Giant Jamboree/Volunteers


We are looking for volunteers to help us make the 2021 Giant Jamboree a great event!

The iGEM 2021 Giant Jamboree will be held online from Thursday November 4 to Sunday November 14, and we're looking for volunteers to help with the judging session days, Thursday November 4 to Sunday November 7. Help us ensure that judging sessions go smoothly and experience the behind-the-scenes of Jamboree production!

We're asking that volunteers commit to 2 days (does not need to be consecutive days), and join us for a short training session prior to the event.

Please keep in mind that your first priority as volunteer is to be at your designated "online area" and that this may mean that you will miss out on some sessions, but with a virtual event comes an opportunity to also re-watch any missed sessions. We will also do our best to make sure you have free time depending on the number of volunteers.

Please note: This opportunity is open to AlumniGEM and other non-team members only. This opportunity is not available to current team members or family members of team members.

Volunteer Duties
  • Staffing judging session rooms
  • Reporting any technical or other issues
  • Supporting speakers and session hosts
Time Committment
  • 6 hours per day for 2 days (we will do our best to assign volunteers to two-hour blocks)
  • Does not need to be consecutive days
  • brief training session before the event
