Giant Jamboree/Register

Team Registration for the iGEM 2021 Giant Jamboree is now closed.


The Jamboree fee for the iGEM 2021 Giant Jamboree is $2500 USD per team for regular registration (including students, instructors, advisors, and other team members listed on the team roster).


  • All iGEM teams must register by the Registration deadline (August 31, 2021, 23:59PM EDT).
  • All iGEM team members are welcome to attend, including students, instructors, professors, and advisors.



All prices are listed in USD currency.

All iGEM teams must register and pay for the Giant Jamboree by the Regular Registration deadline (August 31, 23:59PM EDT).
By registering to attend, you secure your team's Judging Session slot at the Giant Jamboree. Your team will not be judged for medals and/or awards without a Judging Session assignment. If your team does not register by August 31, we will assume that you will not be attending the Giant Jamboree and your team will not receive an assignment.


Teams attending the Giant Jamboree must register online. Registration is now open.

The following payment methods will be accepted: credit card, check, and wire transfer. All registration fee payments must be received on or before the deadlines posted above to secure the prices associated with those deadlines.

If you encounter a credit card error, it is usually one of these two issues: 1) personal credit cards often reject international payments - please call the credit card company to inform them you will be making a payment to the US, or 2) institutional credit cards often have per-transaction limits - please contact us so we can set up a partial payment system for you.

It is recommended that you send your check payment via a traceable delivery method, such as UPS, Fedex, or DHL, to ensure successful delivery.
Wire Transfer
Please allow enough time for the transfer to arrive by the deadline (3-5 business days)
Please send an email request to registration [AT] igem [DOT] org for an invoice, then login to your iGEM account to see the wire transfer information page for details on how to submit payment via wire transfer.

Confirm that the bank account information is correct before proceeding with the wire transfer.


To request an invoice for your team, please email your request to registration [AT] igem [DOT] org and provide the following information: Team Name, Team Code, Contact Name, Contact Email, and Billing Address. Please note we will process invoice requests during our normal operating hours, Monday-Friday 9:00-17:00 EDT. Invoice requests may take 2-3 business days.


All teams must register for the Giant Jamboree. Payment of Giant Jamboree fees must be received in full by iGEM Headquarters by the deadlines stated above to secure the prices associated with those deadlines.

Your Jamboree registration fee includes a team Judging Session slot, side events, and the awards ceremony.


Refunds for cancellations for the Giant Jamboree fee received in writing on or before August 31, 2021, will be granted less a $500 processing fee. Requests should be sent to hq [AT] igem [DOT] org. No refunds will be granted after that date. No refunds will be given for portions of the registration not being used. All refunds will be made in US dollars and will be processed in the manner in which the original payment was submitted, with the possible exception of wire payments which, at the organizers' discretion, may be refunded via check. If a refund is made via wire transfer, any bank fees will be deducted from the refund. Credit card refunds will be issued to the card that was used to make the original payment.

iGEM is not responsible for cancellations or the inability of a team to participate due to weather, threat of terrorism, act of God, and other events beyond iGEM's control.
