Sustainable

As the primary intention is to affect the world in a positive way with our project, verifying our accomplishments to be globally accepted and valued is the most important thing. Among the 17 sustainable development goals, we have achieved four of them, the 2ed, 12th, 13th, and 15th goals. Our reusement of the rice straws could not only strongly prove that the goal of reproduction of the 12th goal is successfully, but also be able to confirm the concept of the sustainable use of the 2ed, 13th, and 15th goals.

Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns

As the global population grows and accompany with unsustainable use of natural resources, a devastating impact has been causing to the planet. Over one of ten of food is lost along the supply chain. Around the world, millions of plastic products are purchased every minute, trillions of the single-use thrown away each year. Therefore, making a strategy trying to ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns is one of the major tasks for the planet.

As the food needed by most global populations is supplied, the agricultural waste as rice straws follows to be produced, and we get the rice straws into a circular agriculture by decomposing them with our modified bacteria and there is produced saccharified straw liquid with PQQ. Then we’ll inoculate the solution back into the plants. It’s reusing rice straws as saccharified straw liquid and PQQ able to promote their growth that completes a circular agriculture and also boosts their production. The above is how we reach the 12th SDGs.

End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture

Just as the above, the global population booming make some of which lack enough food. The crisis also posed additional threats to global food security and nutrition. Disrupted food chain and more factors have affected food systems and food availability. Even, COVID-19 is pushing rising rates of hunger and food insecurity even higher.

PQQ in our project is able to promote plants growth, furthermore, their production. That is, we could reduce food lack somehow.

Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts

Though some people still don’t believe climate change, the science evidence has revealed it as an unignorable issue. Over emission of greenhouse gases would cause climate change, and that is mainly from vehicle activity, industry release, etc.

So is burning rice straws, it would also release greenhouse gases, taking CO2 for example, and some farmers still choose to burn the rice straws down, which is inappropriate, to deal with them produced while food supplication.

With our project, we could reuse the rice straws as the saccharified straw liquid, and then inoculate the solution back into plants rather than just burn the rice straws down. Furthermore, less greenhouse gases are released.

Life on Land

As human activities going on, terrestrial ecosystems, forests and land may be destroyed. Sustainably managing forests, combating desertification, and halting and reversing land degradation and halting biodiversity loss must be practiced.

Our project helps farmers stop burning the rice straws out and destroying the land.
