We would like to thank all the people who have helped us over the whole competition season, not only for those making our iGEM project possible but also for making it attractive and fun! Salute!

General support

The general work includes the team organization, the financial support and workplace access.

  1. Dr. Eric Amigues: Gave us financial support for lab reagents and consumables.
  2. Dr. Jia Meng: Gave us financial support for activities out of lab.
  3. Yifan Jiang, Xiaohan Zhang and Ziwen Xie: Gave us support for team organization.

Bio-lab support

The lab experiment designed and conducted in this year were accomplished by Xinyan Han, Xinchen Nie and Shuhuai Yang. And acquired a lot of valuable advice from Ziwen Xie, Xiaohan Zhang, Yifan Jiang, Yuwei Han and Shengjie Guo.

  1. Dr. Guoxia Han: Our primary PI, gave us suggestion on experiment design and data analysis. Furthermore, he urged us to arrange the experiment reasonably.
  2. Dr. Rong Rong: Gave us advice to edit our phage and helped to complete our phage related experiments design.
  3. Ms. Qiaoli Feng: The lab manager, helped us to receive the access to the lab.
  4. Mr. Ziwen Xie and Ms. Yulan Yi: Gave us technical support on ultracentrifugation and some molecular experiments such as qPCR.
  5. Miss. Yuwei Han: Biological science student and team adviser from 2015 iGEM-XJTLU team, provided advice on project.
  6. Mr. Zhongkai Huang: Gave us a lot of help for experiments and provided lots of basic reagents.
  7. Dr. Hui Zhang: Gave us useful advice on phage culture and knowledge related to safety of phage using.
  8. Technical support: Ziwen Xie, Qiaoli Feng, Zhongkai Huang, Bingjie Jiang, Yulan Yi, Yuwei Han, Yifan Jiang, Xiaohan Zhang, Jianying Sun, Shengjie Guo
  9. Department: We would like to express the greatest gratitude to the department of Biological Science at XJTLU, for providing us with platforms and fund to perform wet experiments.

Modeling support

This year’s modelling is mainly designed and constructed by Lizhe Chen, Xinchen Nie and Shuhuai Yang, The Modeling contains two sections, each of which consists of numerous mathematic and graph models.

  1. Bistable model: Lizhe Chen and Shuhuai Yang
  2. Phage infection & production: Lizhe Chen and Xinchen Nie
  3. Dechang Xu: Our secondary PI, supported us by listening to all our concerns and encouraging us to find solutions and gave us some advice on modelling construction.

Human practice support

This year’s human practice is mainly designed and constructed by Yiwei Yang, Xinchen Nie, Weilin Liu. The advisor team: Xiaohan Zhang, Yuwei Han. Meanwhile, Guiyu Liang, Bo Peng, Ruotong Wang and Yue Yao gave lots of help in HP activities such as questionnaire design and distribution.

  1. Dr. Xiujuan Shen: She is an epidemiologist from the Suzhou NO.5 People’s Hospital. She facilitated the Human Practice process by providing background information of the foodborne-disease, such as the detection method, treatment and symptom.
  2. Mr. Chengang Teng: Chief of the Department of Food Testing in Suzhou Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He is interested in the Epidemiology and Etiology of foodborne disease in Suzhou city. He illustrated the current epidemiology of foodborne disease in Suzhou and introduced the detection methods and technical machine of foodborne pathogen that helped us to set our goals.
  3. Dr. Emilio Pagani Nunez: A representative of the Sciences Cluster from the XJTLU University Ethics Committee (UEC). He contributed on the Safety and Ethic in our project.
  4. Dr. Hongliu Ding: A Doctor from the Suzhou Institute of Product Quality Supervision and Inspection. She invited us to visit and participate in the regular food detection routine of Suzhou Market Supervision and Administration. She contributed to the proposed implementation of our project.
