Although the Brno_Czech_Republic team consists of 21 students and 3 PIs, we could not do without the help of other people. At this point we would like to thank them all!
Instructors
We would like to thank Martin Benešík, who supervised us in the lab when we needed to do experiments late into the evening. If he had not been willing to stay on campus with us, we're sure we would have done much less work.
Thanks also to Daniel Pluskal, who spent many hours with us measuring the fluorescence of our bacteria. His experience in taking measurements on state-of-the-art equipment has given us valuable information about our constructs.
Advisors
We would like to thank Františka Pilařová for creating the graphics for our lecture called GMO Under the Magnifying Glass. Thanks to Františka our lecture gained a whole new dimension!
General support
We would like to thank Masaryk University, Brno University of Technology, Comenius University, and especially CEITEC MU for their multifaceted support of our project.
Financing
First of all, we would like to thank the Faculty of Science at Masaryk University and its dean, Tomáš Kašparovský, for the great financial support of the project.
We would also like to thank our sponsors who financially supported not only our experiments but also our educational activities. Huge thanks to Cadersky-Envitek, Gen-Seq, Integrated DNA Technologies, P-LAB, Promega, and CF Plus Chemicals.
We would also like to thank Michal Marcolla and Eliška Veškrnová for their help with the processing of the official iGEM fees and the team's bookkeeping.
Wet lab
We are very grateful to prof. Jiří Doškař and the Laboratory of Molecular Diagnostics of Microorganisms for providing the laboratory, instruments and seminar room.
We would also like to thank Dana Kadaňková for her help with laboratory management, for providing laboratory glassware and for waste management.
Many thanks to Jana Pečinková for arranging orders for chemicals and consumable laboratory equipment and also for help with sequencing orders and mail handling.
We are also grateful to Libor Krásný and Hana Šanderová for consultation on working with Bacillus subtilis, for providing control strains and for valuable advice on project design.
We also thank Barbora Břenková and Barbora Burýšková for occasional help with troubleshooting.
Last but not least, we thank Surendra Saddala who helped us with taking photographs of our bacteria on the fluorescence microscope.
