Yvonne Song

Hi there, I'm Yvonne Song from Shenyang, China. I am a senior this year in
Liaoning Province Shiyan High School. I have a strong appetite for biology and a strong desire
to introduce biology to others and use my knowledge to make a difference. Coincidentally, iGem
largely fulfills my goal to combine theories with human practices and to apply biology to real
life, so that's the reason why I'm here!

Jason Bi

This is Jason Bi from Shanghai China. I'm a tenth-grade IB student, studying at
Shanghai World Foreign Language Academy. I'm an outgoing person and always willing to interact
with others. I have a wide variety of interests. I'm interested in sports, music and many other
subjects. I am dedicated to this project because of my strong interest in biology and chemistry.
I am a member of the wet team, who is going to perform the experiments with my team members. I
am willing to learn various skills in laboratory practices and group work, as well as writing of
the academic papers and having inspiring opinions throughout the entire project.

My name is Zimo Wang. I am currently a 10th grade student in YK Pao School. My
friends and family members say that I am a very steady person, not a risk taker. I like to spend
my time and do things perfectly. I have been part of my school's FTC robotic team for three
years and I oversee the robot's structure and construction. In terms of sports, I do rowing
during the weekends. In school, I exceed in Biology and Physics. I find Biology a very
fascinating subject as individual differences bring the obsever completely different results. I
joined the USABO this year and was honored with a silver prize. Even though I am in 10th grade,
I learned an entire AP biology course in 9th grade to make sure I have substantial knowledge on
more advanced biology topics.

Hey guys, I'm Jimmy Jin, an eleventh grader from Fujian, Xiamen. It has been a
long time since I was fascinated by the amazing world of biology. I've never attended any major
biological competition before, but I'm eager to learn and have a great passion for biology.
Luckily, I was given the opportunity to join this group to take part in the IGEM comp. And I'm a
member of the wet team in our group who participates in the experiments in the lab. I believe
that throughout the process I would learn more about communication, biology, and many other
things.

Vannie Zhang

Hi there, I'm Vannie Zhang from China, and I served as a member in the wet team,
iGEM 2021. As an 11 grade, I'd never joined an activity like iGEM before, but I gained a lot
during my half-a-month researching experience. Thanks to iGEM, I not only learned to better work
collaboratively but also mastered multiple research tools, like SCI-HUB and Google scholar,
making the research process much easier. Essay writing skills were also promoted through our
descent researching, which would definitely benefit my future academic life.

Hi everyone, this is Waylon Yang from Xi'an China. I am a tenth-grade at Xi'an
High school International Division. I am honored to participate in iGEM because I am very
interested in biology and chemistry. I hope that what I learned in the training camp can be used
in my future work and start my career. And I'm willing to explore deeper through this journey. I
serve as a laboratory technician in the wet team, who is in touch with all the experiments, and
I like my partners very much, as they are all serious and positive people.I am very happy to
participate in this competition; I can not only know so many excellent friends but also improve
our knowledge levels through mutual learning. We are very confident and we are going to come out
on top.

Hiiii~ My name is Amy Qu. I am from Shanghai, China. Currently, I am studying in
Shanghai World Foreign Language Academy. In September of 2021, I am going to enter DP and start
having IB courses. Besides having satisfying academic performances at school, I am also an
athletic guy who enjoys playing volleyball and a quiet person who loves listening to melodious
music. My high responsibility and high-qualified task accomplishment make me a trustworthy and
reliable person. After 4 years in middle school, I found myself deeply fascinated by Biology, an
intriguing subject investigating the mysteries of living organisms. I also love spending time in
the laboratory, following the delicate procedures, and reaching a conclusion by myself. These
characteristics of mine encourage me to choose and stay in the wet team. I hope our journey in
iGEM can enhance my interests in Biology, and I believe I would learn loads of stuff during the
process.

My name is Paul Niu, a student from China. I am currently in the 12th grade. I am
passionate about music, especially guitar songs. I am also interested in making videos and
uploading them to video websites. Like everybody else, I had the dream of being an astronaut
when I was a kid. But when I saw countless people in the world suffering from cancer, including
my father, my dream was changed to becoming a biological researcher. Biology and chemistry are
my two favorite subjects, and I have also achieved good grades in these subjects in high school.
I joined IGEM because I want to take this program as an entry into the biological field and
learn some valuable experience from it. I believe that these experiences will be of great help
to me in my future major and work.

My name is Zhou yang, a student taking IB diploma in the USA. I am interested in
chemistry and biology and hope to continue learning them in university. In my free time, I spent
the most time on anime and movies and traveling. I like exploring; I was surprised by the
mystery of how the solar energy was stored in the starch, talked about why Gump chose to leave
Jennie and met people who lived in every place in the world. I enjoy exploring and it also gives
me skills and the ability to challenge the next. In iGEM, I hope we will pass the limit and do
our best.

I am Jason, the leader of the dry team, and my Chinese name is Zhicheng Xie. I
come from Xi,an Shannxi province, which is a city rich in history. In my daily life, basketball
is the most common way for me to relax. I also go to the gem for muscle building. By the way, I
buy some funds sometimes since I am interested in finance and my dream major is also finance. I
hope I can play an role in this iGEM, improve my leadership and finally get good grades with my
teammates.

My name is Betty Zhang , and I am a grade 11 student in the International
Department of The Second High School affiliated to Beijing Normal University. I am a girl who
likes photography, so much so that I become the leader of the school News club. Recording life
moments with camera and notebook is a kind of enjoyment for me. In my spare time, I enjoy
attending public speaking and international events. These experiences make me a person who loves
to think and talk, so I became a member of model United Nations and participated in many
international Model United Nations competitions. iGEM is a new starting point for me. I hope I
can learn more knowledge and improve my teamwork ability through this valuable opportunity. I
look forward to a better future for us!

Hi, my name is Rachel. As a seventeen years old girl from Yunnan Province, it is
the first time I have ever got myself involved in such a program practice my social
responsibility. During my leisure time, I am intended to participate in basketball events, since
I am a member of the basketball team. Moreover, I am the vice president of the Model United
Nation Club and have presented in four conferences. Being a member of EV71terminator is an
honor, as well as a challenge for me, I sincerely hope that we can build a bright future having
the threat of hand, foot and mouth disease eliminated for children together.

Xi’an Tieyi International Department. Usually, I am fond of listening to music. I can help with
most of the work except painting and design. I wish I can get along well with others and learn

I am Carl, a high school student from Shenzhen. I am a member of dry team and my
Chinese name is Yuan Shengkai. My favorite subjects are math and history since learning those
subjects makes me more logical and experimental. I also like to travel, which benefits me a lot.
I have been to many countries, such as French, the US, Canada, and Russia. Travel is a good
method for me to broaden my horizon and enrich my mind. My dream career is to be a businessman
as well as to contribute to society in the future, and I will do my utmost to achieve this goal.
Thus, joining iGEM is a great choice for me to touch the business outside my high school era. I
can not only learn lots of business knowledge but also practice it, including making
questionnaires, doing some interviews with unknown guys, and writing some business plans. Plus,
while I am still in my prime, I want to solve a real social problem, like our topic, making an
oral vaccine for HFMD. If so, I will be very proud no matter we are successful or not.

My name is Issac Sun and I am from Fuzhou. Now I am study in an ordinary high
school. I'll be in grade 12 soon. My interest is riding and I have spent 24 days to challenge
the Qingzang Line without any following cars. I hope I can finish iGEM with flying colors and
become an outstanding member in it.

My name is Rongkai Zou. I am 18 years old, and I am from Hangzhou, China. I am
interested in sports games and computer gaming. By participating in various sports activities, I
had many experiences of teamwork and collaboration. I am also a member of the school photography
club, which gives me a chance to organize club activities every school week. I hope to pursue my
career in the field of business and finance. Being a team member of the EV71 Terminator gives me
a fantastic opportunity to actually running different events and collaborate with other team
members. I am looking forward to a great experience in this activity.

I am Vivian and my Chinese name is Huang Ruwei. I come from Fujian, China. I am a
positive and easygoing person and I like to make new friends. Playing tennis is my favorite
sport because it can really relax me. I also like to take photos to record my life. What's more,
singing is the most indispensable part in my life. I'm glad to join in iGEM and I hope that I
can improve my social ability in this period. By the way, the most important things I want to do
here is to get along well with my teammates and face the difficulties together.

I'm Jacky Cai,An eleven grade student from Xiamen Shuangshi middle school. I have
various hobbies. As for sport, I'm good at swinmming, playing basketball and ping pong.Moreover,
music is also one important part of my life,and singing would always help me become energetic.
By the way, I have come to more than 20 countries until now, these special experiences have
greatly broadened my horizon. I have joined some seminars about economics，participated in
internships in commercial companies and also taken several courses such as AP Microeconomics and
Macroeconomics. I also came to trade show of Frankfurt for 4 times so I have more practical
knowledges about traditional trade too. I am interested in majors of finance and trade.Having
such a substantial background I believe all of them will enable me to pursue my future goals.
After iGEM, I will be more familiar with what I like and get more experiences, which will become
a strong base of my plans.

Hi, my name is Hanfang Sheng，and I'm from Shenyang, Liaoning, China, a beautiful
city with wonderful views especially in winter. I am a student in grade 11 of Northeast Yucai
international High School. And I'm very obsessed with math and good at it. In hope of majoring
in Accounting in university, I chose to participate in iGEM camp. First of all，I am really
interested in doing social practice works. In addition，I'm really looking forward to forming a
team with people from all over China, knowing different cultures and becoming great friends with
all the outstanding fellows. So I am very honored to be working with my partners to develop the
products this time. I firmly believe that I will face the challenges bravely and make many
friends in iGEM camp, and our group will get an excellent performance in the end.

Hello everyone! My name is Crystal Li, and I am from Guangzhou, China. I am
currently studying in La Salle College Preparatory. I am going to be a junior soon when school
starts. I have tremendous interest in the major of Biology and Business, and want to keep
focusing on these interests in college. Therefore, I suppose participating in iGEM will be a
worthwhile experience for me. I choose to be in the wet team when I register, because I really
enjoy the time when I am doing experiments in the laboratory, especially this time I can get a
chance to collaborate with my teammates on the experiments. I have acquired a lot of knowledge
about biology from Professor Fan and my teammates these days in the laboratory. I love the vibe
where everyone treats each other like their own family members, everyone is very friendly.
