Team:Stockholm/Team
Elsa
Elsa is one of the team leaders this year for iGEM Stockholm! She is a native Swede, who recently finished her Master's degree in Chemical engineering. She's basically the mom of our team, and the master waffle-baker. She joined iGEM mainly to create something really cool and get experience working together with people in other fields.
Intisar
Intisar is the second team leader for 2021, and studies Engineering in biotechnology. She is more of a paternal figure, and is a little bit more responsible than Elsa. Intisar always makes sure the job gets done :)
Viraj
Viraj is the main money man, and he is the cornerstone of the finance group. He is a social butterfly, and loves to organise outings and parties with the rest of the team. He loves to hike, and stay hydrated while doing so.
Nadine
Nadine is also in the finance group, as well as being a part of the Entrepeneur team. Nadine one of the most responsible members of the team, and she likes to go to bed early. She comes from Germany, but about half the team didn't know that for months because she has a Scottish accent from studying there.
Simon
Simon is a triple member of the finance, dry lab, and entrepreneurship subteams. He is studying his Masters in Medical biotechnology now at KTH. He is a vital part of the Entrepeurship group, and is incapable of having a non-deep conversation! Simon joined iGEM to get more practical experience and learn something totally new.
Tereza
Tereza is in the dry lab team, and hails from the Czech Republic. Tereza always keeps her cool, and is never seen without a smile on her face. No-one knows why she's so optmistic, especially considering she's in iGEM. She's currently in Switzerland now, setting up cool business opportunities in the financial centre of Europe.
Shivani
Shivani is the last dry lab member, but sadly hasn't been in Stockholm for the majority of the year. Coronavirus sometimes do be like that. Luckily, she has been able to do most of her work digitally, and has still been productive. Her picture looks a little different from the rest for this reason, as does Ilva Noa's. The curse of not being in the correct country.
Christina
Christina is a foundational member of the entire team, and is one half of the media team. She is the face behind our promotional video, our presentation, our logo, and our social medias! She is a creative whizz, from Greece, and is generally an amazing person to be around.
Nassai
Nassai is the other half of the media team, and is the wiki-responsible for everyone. He comes from New Zealand, and learnt how to code specifically for this wiki. He has the physique of a hobbit, is studying a Bachelor of Biomedicine at KI, and is a hoe for MF.
Maria
Maria is a part of the wet lab, and is not often seen outside of it. She is from Spain, and absolutely adores biking and hiking around the country. She is studying her Masters of Biomedicine at KI, which helps her keep everyone sane in the lab.
Joel
Joel is also in the wet lab, but his major role in iGEM is making memes. He loves to have fun and party with the rest of the team, and is always seen in the Slack channels afterwards sharing photos and memes of the different events we had over the year.
Ifi
Ifigeneia is another major member of the wet lab crew, and comes from Greece as well. She is studying Neurochemistry and Neurobiology at SU, which is pretty different to our project this year. Although the brain and the face are pretty close, so maybe it has helped her during the experiments.
Srijani
Srijani is another wet lab member, but honestly no-one knows what she's doing. She loves to hang out with the rest of the team, and is a master of sarcasm.
Caro
Caro is another responsible adult, and happens to also be in the wet lab subteam. She is incredibly clever, having done internships and writing articles for the University of Oxford! She comes from Germany, and loves her local football team for Cologne.
Lovisa
Lovisa is in the human practises subteam and Entrepreneurship. She also spent a lot of time this summer helping wet lab with their cloning work, truly a woman of many talents. She is secretly not even a Stockholmer! Despite studying here, she actually lives in Uppsala. She has an infectious joy for life, and is super social and fun to talk to. She's also a great dancer.
Silvija
Silvija is another human practises member and Entrepreneurship member. Alongside Lovisa, she made the synthetic biology educational package which we distributed to primary schools around Stockholm. She is also from Lithuania, which is a country I admit I know nothing about.
Ilva Noa
Ilva Noa (yes that's her first name) space included, is the final HP member, final Entrepreneurship member, and final Finance member (she does a lot). She comes from the Netherlands, which is where she is based again. She is super interested in astronomy, and is super bubbly. I really don't know where we get these smiley, upbeat people from.
