l am currently heading the Molecular Microbiology Lab (MML) at IISER Tirupati. We are an interdisciplinary group working for a common theme of "Killing disease-causing Bad Bugs with New Drugs" with a focus on Mycobacterium species. iGEM has been an exciting journey!

An accomplished senior researcher and an authority in the area of Genome Homeostasis mechanisms, he graduated from IISc (Bangalore), trained at Yale Medical School, USA), led his research programmes at TIFR (Mumbai), currently, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hyderabad (UoH) and an adjunct faculty at IISER Tirupati. He is also a fellow of all three National Academies in India and a Sir JC Bose National Fellow of DST, India.

Prof Ambika's work involves understanding complex systems using nonlinear dynamics and complex networks; nonlinear dynamics based modelling of Biological systems and complexity measures from data, to name a few. She is currently Chair, Physics and Coordinator, Academics at IISER Tirupati. Her constant support and guidance helped us model all aspects of our project successfully.
