Deli is our secretary and takes notes in almost all of our meetings. Deli is driven by challenges and she is interested in entrepreneurship and science communication. She is Cattlelyst’s blog keeper and the mind behind our software, the iGEM PIPE. She spends her free time watering her over 50 plants.

It wouldn't feel the same if I can't put the words ‘cow fart’ in my thesis
Morris keeps track of all the finances and funding as our treasurer. Although this is a very serious job, he is goofy and not afraid of using puns in many conversations. He also has an appreciation for fungi, so it goes without saying that we call him our “funguy”.

I am the enthusiastic guy!
Although Riemer lived in a tiny house, he is a big thinker and can find creative solutions to many problems. As Head of Science, he uses these skills to create an overview of the complete project and bridge the gaps between the different theses that form our project.

From getting us licenses and lab supplies to realizing physical lab spaces, as our lab manager she made sure everyone could comfortably do their work! Apart from running around in the lab, she was also responsible for getting funding.

If we fail, we can still fail spectacularly
Thomas is our safety officer. Besides keeping us safe in the lab, he is also interested in safety outside of the lab and always appreciates discussions on ethics. Is ethics not your cup of tea? Talking about any other topic with Thomas will also give you fruitful discussions (e.g. on color palettes and nitrogen metabolism).

Sanne enjoys interacting with and learning from stakeholders, therefore, her tasks as Head of Human Practices suit her well. Sanne both modeled and examined nitrogen metabolism. Thus, it comes to no surprise that she is our expert on the nitrogen pathways and can answer all our burning questions!

Sophie is passionate about science communication and puts this into practice as our Head of Outreach. She leads the team’s interaction and engagement with society and manages the social media channels. When not talking about Cattlelyst, she is probably swimming, cycling and running, or eating to make up for these.

As our Head of Design, Marta employs her creative and graphical design skills to provide us with the tools for the visual communication. Although she is a plant biotechnologist, she offered her time and energy to complete our team and to work with bacteria. Luckily, she enjoys working with them (and us) too.

Anemoon is our Wiki Manager and made sure our journey would be well documented on the Wiki page that you are looking at right now. She likes to keep things structured and organized. We love our ‘librarian’ to the Moon and back for doing so (yes, she knows where to find that file).
