Biolinker is a Startup company that works with production in the field of synthetic biology, producing cell-free recombinant protein synthesis kits (CFPS), Aptamers for protein purification that is necessary due to the binding that has high affinity and specificity, Microfluidics due to the use of fewer reagents, fast performance as well as high-performance protein expression and automation and they also produce biomolecules as an alternative to the chemical preservatives to increase food expiration date. They supported us by providing one cell-free recombinant protein synthesis kit (CFPS) that helped us in the development of our project.
The Laboratory of Synthetic and Molecular Biology is located within the Biotechnology Center of the Lorena’s School of Engineering at University of São Paulo. This Center was a pioneer and has been helping to develop lots of important and modern technologies in synthetic and molecular biology. The main focus of Symb Lab is the exploration and genetic improvement of fungi such as Aspergillus nidulans and Escherichia coli for laboratorial and industrial use. The lab receives lots of resources to do research on biomass and on human health and they also work with the genetics of other microorganisms besides fungi. The main researcher of Symb Lab is Dr. Fernando Segato who gave us a lot of his help.
The Pro-rectory of Graduation (PRG) and Pro-rectory of Post-Graduation (PRPG) are central organs of the University of São Paulo and have as objectives the idealization, planning, monitoring and evaluation related to undergraduate and pos-graduate courses, guaranteeing them the contemporaneity and excellence of the students' education, which is the largest representation of the importance of University of São Paulo for society. They supported us financially and they made it possible for us to join iGEM 2021.
Twist is a company that manufactures synthetic DNA and DNA products for customers in a wide range of industries. They helped us by providing gBlocks of our parts.
Integrated DNA Technologies is a part of the Síntese de Biotecnologia Company and it offers a diverse range of products for molecular biology research. Just like Twist Bioscience they were essential for the lab work, providing gBlocks of our parts.
Catarse is the biggest crowdfunding platform of Brazil. We’ve created a campaign there that helped us in getting financial support from people who believed in our project. Catarse also helped us by sharing our campaign in their social media.
