Synthetic Biology Fair
Held by Keystone iGME on October 16th, it was the second year for Synthetic Biology Fair. Five teams reunited in the beautiful campus of Keystone. In this lovely cozy fair, we had the valuable opportunities to convey our projects to people in the community and communicate to them face to face, and to share games, brochures and other products we made for public education.
During the activity, we introduce our projects to other teams and teachers and students in Keystone, their feedback gave us inspiration on how to deliver our project on the final presentation. A popular science computer game made by Keystone iGEM and an art exhibition held by BJU-China opened our eyes to ways of public communication and education. Through the activity, we are also very excited to have invited more teams to join in the iGEM online platform and obtained useful suggestions from advisors of iBowu-China. We are looking forward to come back to Keystone again the next year.
On Campus
To maintain the diversity of UCAS-China iGEM team, holding on campus iGEM seminars is important for us to advertise iGEM competition as well as collect information and suggestions from students in different majors.
Speech on iGEM
At the beginning of the new semester, we participated in the Competition Promotion Meeting held by Science and Innovation Department of Youth League Committee. Our team leader Qihan Liu delivered a speech on synthetic biology and iGEM. We were excited to see many students with various talents willing to join us.
During the National Day vacation, we held a seminar to introduce our 2021 project-deCaffi. Companied by a mellow coffee aroma, we had a cozy conversation with our schoolmates. We want to convey a belief that details of life can become the object of science research, and in the world of iGEM, the idea of flying in the sky can also be realized.
We gave a presentation about DeCaffi, demonstrated on-site the producing process of hand brewed coffee and the usage of DeCaffi hardware model.
