Attributions
Prajwal Patil : The captain of our boat, he is the Team lead of Team IISER Berhampur, iGEM 2021. He worked actively in Wetlab, Biobrick, Modelling, and Hardware. He also helped out in Human Practices and Project management. Basically, he looked over the whole team and the project.
Ritika Sethi : She is the Co-lead of Team IISER Berhampur, iGEM 2021. She actively worked on the Hardware, modelling, and Wiki page for our team. She is also a member of the Human Practices.
Nisha Kumari : She worked actively in Wetlab (lead) and Biobrick. She also helped actively in the Human practices and worked in the Designing and content writing team. She was also a member of the modeling team.
Utkarsh Bhore : He worked actively in the Wetlab (lead), Biobrick and Human practices. He also helped in the Modelling, designing stuff and content writing for various sponsorships and grants.
Manish Dwari : He is the core guy of the Design team (lead). He helped in the designing of wiki-page, posters, flyers, and mostly everything. He worked actively in Wetlab. He also helped out with the Human practices and Wiki page.
Swadha Tewari : She worked actively in Wetlab and Biobrick. She helped in Hardware and Modelling, including phylogenetic analysis for our project. She also was a member of Human practices.
Ankita Misra : She actively worked in Human Practices involving the collaborations, interviews and outreach programmes. She also helped out in Modelling, Designing and Content Writing team.
Saimurali Kolupuri : He is the coding guy of our team. He actively worked in designing and coding for the Wiki page for our team. He also worked on the Hardware of our project.
Om Dwivedi : He actively worked in the Modelling of our project, including epidemiological model, enzyme kinetics, etc. He was also a member of the Human Practices.
Dipismita Panda : She actively worked in the Human Practices including our instagram page and collaborations with other teams.
Kshitij Behera : He actively worked in the Human Practices (lead) from interviews, sponsorship mails, outreach programmes to funding. He worked in project management as well. He was also in the Wet lab team.
Prakhar Varshney : He worked actively in the Human Practices helping with collaborations and other outreach programmes. He was also involved in the Wetlab and Project management team.
Akankshya Sahu : She actively worked in the Biobricks (lead) and the part designing of the project. She was also a Wet Lab member and she helped in the Human Practices, handling the Twitter handle of our team.
Arnav Bhavsar : He worked actively in the Modelling (lead) from epidemiological model, enzyme kinetics to fluorescence analysis. He was a member of the Hardware team and human Practices.
Qazi Saaheelur Rahaman : The youngest member of our team, he worked actively in the Designing team. He helped in designing and coding for the Wiki page. He is also involved in Human Practices, handling the Facebook page of iGEM 2021.
MENTORS
Dr. Vinay Bulusu : Dr. Vinay Bulusu is currently an Assistant Professor at IISER Berhampur (Department of Biological science). He is our Principal Investigator and his constant support and assistance throughout our project made it possible to take our project to this level. We could never have been able to come so far without his guidance.
Dr. Arunkumar Krishnan : He is an Assistant Professor (DSB) at IISER Berhampur. He helped us in troubleshooting many of our modeling-related problems and also extensively helped us in carrying out the phylogenetic analysis. He has been a great support for the team.
Dr. Mukund Ramakrishnan : He is an Assistant Professor (DSB) at IISER Berhampur. He helped us in improvising our project experiment in the biosafety aspect.
Dr. Adinarayan Doddi : He is an Assistant Professor at IISER Berhampur (Department of Chemical science). He helped us in reviewing and finalizing our project idea.
Dr. R Selvi Bharathivikru : She is an Assistant Professor (DSB) at IISER Berhampur. She helped us a lot throughout the project, in the experimental designs as well as the project presentation. Her suggestions and advice were very valuable for the team.
ADVISORS
Gyanranjan Parida : Gyan is a BS/MS student of the 2018 batch. He helped us a lot in keeping track of our overall project. He always gave us useful insights and helped us in many aspects.
Sukanya Chakraborty : She is a BS/MS student of the 2017 batch. she guided us through the Biobricks part and helped us learn how to go about it in our project.
Gokul Bhaskaran : He is a BS/MS student of the 2016 batch. He helped us in getting sponsorship contacts and during the lockdown, while our team was at home, he did some photography and gave us our lab photos for the biosafety form.
Vinayak S : He is a BS/MS student of the 2016 batch. He discussed and helped us with the designing aspects of our promotional video and gave us useful tips for that.
Sudev Pradhan : He is a BS/MS student of the 2018 batch. He helped us with some aspects of the wiki-designing and coding part.
Prof. TS Sridhar : He is the Dean, Research and Development and senior Professor at Biological Sciences, IISER Berhampur. He gave valuable suggestions to our project from a clinical and industrial perspective. He suggested doing cost analysis and project management for our kit.
Prof. Rajesh Gokhale : He is a senior Professor at the National Institute of Immunology and the former director of the Institute of Genomics and Integrative Biology, Delhi. He suggested optimization of DNA amplification and detection and biosafety. He provided us with the BAC (Bacterial Artificial Clones) clones for Mycobacterium tuberculosis containing rpob and KatG genes from his lab.
Dr. Shaik Taheruddin : He is a resident doctor at the Department of Microbiology, MKCG medical Hospital, Berhampur. He gave useful suggestions on the project from a clinical perspective and helped us realize the situation of MDR-TB in the rural areas and the need of making a point-of-care diagnostic (POC) kit for detection of MDR-TB.
Dr. M. Madhan Kumar : He is a scientist at National JALMA institute of Leprosy and other mycobacterial diseases. He helped us review and verify the experimental design for our project.
Dr. Nishad Matange : He is currently an assistant professor in the Department of Biology, IISER Pune reviewed. He reviewed our project idea and experiment via mail and gave us valuable suggestions.
Sundaram Acharya :He is currently a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) c/o Dr. Debojyoti Chakraborty (CSIR-IGIB). He discussed the biobrick and experimental aspect of our project and suggested useful modifications.
Sutirth Dey : He is currently professor in the Department of Biology, IISER Pune. He reviewed the epidemiological model of our project and gave us important inputs.
Dr. Satyaprasad Senanayak :He is an assistant professor at National Institute of Science Education and Research, Bhubaneswar. He offered key inputs in optimisation of hardware for detection of fluorescence in low cost settings. The team will be visiting his laboratory soon for optimisation experiments.
Prof. KVR Chary : The encouragement by Prof. KVR Chary (Director, IISER Berhampur) has been our driving force for us to move ahead and do our project without any limitations. His support in all forms meant a lot to the team.
Radhika Jagtap : Radhika is a Digital Creator and Client Servicing Executive. She was affected by MDR-TB and is currently under treatment. She motivated us a lot by sharing the problems and difficulties that an MDR-TB patient goes through. It inspired our team to implement our project on a ground level.
Kazi Hilal Nawaz : He is Senior Treatment Supervisor, at District Tuberculosis centre, Bardhaman Sadar-I, West Bengal. He helped us in the estimation and cost analysis of our detection kit.
Dr. Durga Mahor : She is a postdoctoral research fellow in the lab of Dr. Vinay Bulusu. She helped us during our wet-lab experiments while characterizing the plasmids we isolated.
Uttam Das : He is a research intern in the laboratory of Dr. Vinay Bulusu. He helped us in Plasmid isolation.
Ibakordor Khyriem : She is currently pursuing her MS thesis in the laboratory of Dr. Ruthrotha Selvi Bharathavikru. She guided us while performing transformation of our bacteria (NEB stable, New England Biolabs) cells in the laboratory.
Niraj Gupta : He is an Integrated PhD student in Biological Sciences, IISER Berhampur. He helped us start a new Podcast for our own iGEM 2021 team which is now called SynVerse.
Kunmun Naik : She is a BS/MS student of the 2016 batch. She helped us in sketching the Comic strip for our team with artistic skills.
Tushar Dehuri : He is a BS/MS student of the 2018 batch. He helped us in video and photo editing.
Neehar Verma : He is a BS/MS student of the 2018 batch. He helped in wiki design and troubleshooting in wiki page problems.
OUTREACH

Team inventa : Inventa is a national science magazine and collaborative science communication platform. Team inventa gave us the opportunity to give a talk on “Future of Diagnostics - A molecular approach” which helped us to reach out to their audience and discuss about CRISPR and our iGEM project.
