GT iGEM team 2021 consists of eleven G9 to G10 students working on a project to address plastic pollution problem. The team is further divided into three sub-teams to put effort into finding solutions from different perspectives. The three sub-teams include Research team, Human Practice team and Drone & AI teams. The team receives supports from their biology teacher, university professors, experts from different sectors, student advisers and university iGEM teams. The collaborative efforts make the project ideas evolve and turn into reality!
Gabriel is one of the team leaders of our team. He enjoys doing the research work in this project. He is passionate and dedicated and works hard to accomplish his goals. He likes playing the piano and learning new languages in his spare time.
Gavin is one of the team leaders of our team. He is also one of the team leaders of Drone & AI team. He enjoys the droning job for obtaining data for training and analyzing the survey by using quantitative methods. He explores different knowledge and methods to encounter difficulties he faces.
Being one of the leaders of the Drone & AI team, Jonas is responsible for the wiki and deep-learning-related work. He explored deeply the concepts in Object Detection during the project and strives for new knowledge. He is also a helpful member who helps with the Human Practice Team’s interview work and activities.
Belovffy is one of the team leaders of the Human Practice team. She is a responsible team leader that is always willing to help. She also shaped the friendly atmosphere within the team. Her duties in the team are video editing and graphic designing. Since joining iGEM, she has been continuously exploring new fields of knowledge.
Calista is one of the team leaders of the Human Practice team. She is the mitochondria of the HP team. She is very attentive to the details of our project and often promotes our project through social media. Although she is a major movie and TV show lover, it never lessens her passion for iGEM and learning beyond.
Ian is a member of the Research team and Drone & AI team. Recently, he is also engaging in Human Practice team as well. He has great enthusiasm for what he’s learning. He never misses any chance of learning and always tries to be responsible for any duties around him.
Gordon is one of the members of the Human Practice team. He is very sociable and talkative. He is in charge of the education materials in the HP team. Throughout the journey of iGEM, he has improved on his presentation skills and booklet designing.
Heison is a member of the Research team. He strives to be a great learner. He likes to obtain knowledge by practising. Lab work is what he liked the most throughout the iGEM journey. He treats every moment as precious learning opportunities.
He’s a member of our Drone & AI team and has a good amount of skills and enthusiasm in computer science.
Josh is one of the members of our Drone & AI team. He contributed greatly to our proposed implementation.

Dr. Yu is an Assistant Principal of our school. She specializes in molecular biology and biotechnology. Throughout the iGEM journey, she orchestrates different parts in such a way that the whole team aligns with a common goal to make a rewarding learning experience.
Prof. Lo is an Associate Professor of School of Biological Science at The University of Hong Kong. His research interests are plant secondary metabolism and metabolic engineering. He provides every support to bring science learning opportunities for high school students.
Prof. Yun Wah Lam is an Associate Professor of Department of Chemistry at The City University of Hong Kong.
Dr. Andy Lui is a postdoctoral fellow in Prof. Clive Lo’s research lab.
Mr. Michael Chiang is a technical officer in Prof. Lam’s research lab.
Mr. Sidhant Gupta is a founder of ClearBot.
Mr. Utkarsh Goel is a founder of ClearBot.
