Katherine Tang
My name is Kaiwen (Katherine) Tang, currently a senior at the Ethel Walker School in Connecticut, USA. I am passionate about music as I blieve that music is the food of the soul. I have been playing the piano for 14 years and the flute for 10 years. Though music takes away my leisure time, I have to admit that it teaches me persevarance. Besides, I am athletic. I am on the cross country, swimming, and tennis team in my school. I enjoy working with my teammates; we learn from each other and have a lot of fun.
With great interest in biology, especially in digestive system, my dream job is to be a gastroenterologist in the future. I hope people could suffer less and that there are more treatments for cancers. Participaing in iGEM was a unique experience for me, and being in a team which aims for CRC detection was even more desirable. Not only did I confirm my interest in gastroenterology, I made so many friends from differnt places. By colaborating with each other, I strongly felt the team spirit. There is nothing better than being in a team with support and love.

Grace Zhang
Hello! :) I am Yangyang Zhang. You can also call me Grace. I have been studying in Bradford District High School, Canada, for 3 years and will step into grade 12. About my hobbies, it can be said it's too broad. I love various dances. Among them, I dance Latin for 7 to 8 years and won lots of medals in international competitions. I remembered I did a team Latin dance competition before. It was the most impressive memory for me. Since then, I always enjoy teamwork. I think it's one of the reasons I love iGEM and can't wait to join. I also like k-pop. After I went abroad, due to the influence of friends around me, I started to do lots of k-pop dance cover. This is the most thing I love to do in my free time. Usually, I like to use Procreate to draw some illustrations. Now, I am trying to draw impasto. I also do some sports such as basketball, tennis and badminton. Tennis is my favourite.
About iGEM, when I first heard about it, I was very excited. First, I am very interested in genetics, neuroscience and chemistry. After that, I found it offers many opportunities. For example, I not only have the opportunity to do experiments, but I can also participate in designing experiments, etc. I can learn more deeply here. Also, this competition includes business, art, and so on. I think I can get a more comprehensive display and development here. Besides, I was fortunate to be the captain of the wet team. The responsibilities of this position can better help me develop leadership. I believe I will gain a lot here. With the teammates so far, I can imagine our journey in iGEM is great and impressive.

Arvin Lü
I’m Guojing Lü. English name is Arvin. Currently, I am a 11-grade student in Beijing Huijia Private School. I am passionate in Chemistry and Biology, which is the main reason I joined IGEM.
In addition, IGEM has a universal praise among peers. Thus, at that time, I was thinking that if I get chance, I attend this competition. IGEM provide me a great opportunity to practice my communication skill and Cooperation skill. In addition, the style of IGEM, which is experiment mixing with publicity, is really my type. Also, I meet a bunch of interesting and knowledgeable teammates in this competition. About my hobbies, at free time, I often play basketball and magic cube. furthermore, Booker is the best NBA player in my mind and Feliks is my favorite magic cube player. Hope I could get a fruitful result in IGEM！

Haiyuan Liu
Hi, my name is Haiyuan Liu. I’m going to be in 12th grade, coming from Jinan foreign Language School International Center. Attending IGEM do helps a lot in teamwork and leadership. I also got to know a bunch of excellent people coming from different places who inspire and help me. This must be a marvelous journey and experience. I like geography-related things. I want to apply and utilize what I have learnt in our program and devote myself into this wonderful experience.

Charro Li
I am a 17 years old boy from HuBei Wu Han, with Taibai Li as a Chinese name and Charro Li as an English name. Currently, I am about to enter into 12th grade in the Maple Leaf International School. I have many interests and hobbies. I like to play computer games on a platform known as Steam. Games not only relax my body mentally, but it also can broaden my eyesight and enrich my knowledge. That is why I spend much time at PC games and almost discard my sports activities.
When it comes to Igem, first of all, I have confidence in my team. My dream job is computer programming and software engineering. Therefore, I played an important role in website creation. So far, I do think I learnt a lot within the project. I made a lot of new firends and understood many methods. What an experience!

Hi guys, my name is Cindy, and I am currently a grade 11 student in Guangzhou. My hobbies are snorkeling, skiing, and watching movies. I'm also a big fan of Harry Potter. Biology has always been my favorite subject perhaps because of my mother: she is an ophthalmologist. IGEM provides me with a platform to improve my experimental abilities, and, of course, an opportunity to get to know more friends who cherish the same ideals and follows similar paths.

Tony Ma
As you all should know by now, my name is Yueyang Ma. I also don't mind to go by Tony. I currently study in a Catholic high school in the Washington State. My favorite subject is Mock Trail because I enjoy the process of reasoning. Outside of school, I enjoy doing exercises and watching TV series. On the sport perspective, I have attended tennis, cross country, football, and basketball team. My idol and favorite singer is Taylor Swift.
From another perspective, I'm a social person. In school, I've been the leader of DECA and robotics. Outside of school, I attended some challenging clubs. So, for IGEM, I'm looking forward to the collabration and exporation with teammates. To sum up, I would love to know each member in the team. Most importantly, let's keep moving forward as a team!

Selina
Hey everyone! My name is Selina! I am currently the youngest in the team with the age of fifteen ( which is soon sixteen ). I really like music and mosty K-POP. My favorite groups are The Boyz and MCND. Out of these two groups comes my idols Kim Sunwoo, Kim Younghoon, and Son Seongjun. During my free time, I like playing video games, dancing, swimming, and drawing. To be honest, the moment I realized that I was the smallest member in the team, I kind of freaked out and felt pressured. After the warm welcoming and care-taking of my adorable teammates, I started to step outeside my comfort zone and eventually got to learn a lot of biology knowledges. The iGEM competition not only helped me with my learning in biology, but it also taught me how important teamwork is.

Tian Qiu
My name is Tian Qiu. Currently, I am studying in Jinan Foreign Language School. I am a 17-year-old boy who likes sports. I like soccer and I have been playing in my school soccer team for about 2 years. I really admire Hector Bellerin, who has been played in my favoriate team--Arsenal. Also, I like playing basketball. I watch NBA a lot. By the way, Kevin Durant is my favoriate athlete. I am very interested in various history sites, especially the forbidden city. Finally, a saying I believed is "less is more." Therefore, I insist on being a minimalist.

Jiale Mao
My name is Mao Jiale. Most of the time you can just call me Jiale. I am a 15 year-old student from Ningxiang Country Garden School, which is an international school. In my leisure time, I often listen to music and draw. Also I like playing some games, such as 'Sky'. My favorite subjects are biology and chemistry. I have a keen interest in experiments.
In our team, I am mainly responsible for writing experimenal records. I hope our team's project goes well in iGEM (International Genetically Engineered Machine Competition), which is hosted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Participants are required to select topics independently, use their spare time to try to use the standardized biological module component library, and use standardized genetic engineering methods to assemble artificial biological systems for specific purposes, and to manipulate and measure them. Fully exercise students' independent academic ability and teamwork ability, and cultivate students' enthusiasm for science. I feel that this is a great opportunity for myself to learn and grow.
