Medal Requirements
We would like to make it easier for you to know which page is linked to which medal criterium. Below you can find a tabel created for each medal category, in which is listed the medal criteria with a short description about the criterium and a link to the page(s) containing the content.

Competition Deliverables | We have delivered the presentation video, wiki, and judging form. |
Our presentation video can be found over here (link will be added later) and our judging from can be found here. |
Attributions |
On our attribution page, we honoured all the people who helped us during our project and described clearly the contribution of each team member. | You can read it on Attributions. |
Project Description | We created a project description that contains the inspiration and description of our project. |
You can read it on Description. |
Contribution |
We made two useful contributions for future iGEM teams, namely we made a Tips & Tricks guide for the Matlab add-on SimBiology, added new parts and contributed to existing parts. | You can read it on Contribution. |

Engineering Success |
We demonstrated engineering success in both modeling and lab work, by going through multiple iterations of the engineering design cycle. | You can read it on Engineering Success. |
Collaboration |
We collaborated in a meaningful way with multiple iGEM teams such as iGEM team Aachen and iGEM team Wageningen. In addition, we organized and hosted the BeNeLux Mini Jamboree, which will be scheduled for the 25th of october. | You can read it on Collaboration. |
Human Practices | We talked to multiple experts in the fields of biology, healthcare, ultrasound, ethics, and industry, to create feedback loops involving reflection, responsibility, and responsiveness between IBDetection and the real world. | You can read it on Human Practices. |
Proposed Implementation |
We thought about how we could implement IBDetection in the real world through the following aspects: the GMO, the pill, the user, and the real world. A cost-analysis is performed for the implementation of IBDetection into the real world. | You can read it on Implementation. |

Integrated Human Practices |
We demonstrated how we integrated the feedback of the consulted experts from our human practices in our entire project. | You can find it on Human Practices . |
Improvement of an Existing Part |
We enhanced the expression of the RFP coding device with RBS (Bba_K801100) by exchanging the Ribosome Binding Site (RBS) with a 5’Untranslated Region (5'UTR) containing a g10-L RBS. | You can read it on Improvement. |
Proof of Concept | We have shown that we were able to reproduce the sensing and reporter parts of our system, successfully transformed our system in three different E. coli strains and showed with our model that these cells should sense tetrathionate. This will lead to the production of gas vesicles, which can be visualized using ultrasound. | You can read it on Proof of Concept. |
Partnership |
We collaborated/ partnered throughout the year with the iGEM team BOKU Vienna, where we worked together on all facets of our projects, including human practices, lab, modeling and the wiki. | You can read it on Partnership. |
Communication and Education | We made the effort to educate people in different ways about synthetic biology and presented our work via multiple channels. | You can read it on Communication and Education. |
Model |
We made a computational model of the TtrS/R sensing system, in combination with the ARG system, to gain insight into the cascade and protein expression. | You can read it on Model. |
