Before working in the lab, all members attended a S1 security instruction, to make sure everyone knows, how to work in the lab. In addition to general safety, laboratory safety is part of teamwork for us. All general lab rules and regulations were complied by all members of the team. As we worked with Escherichia Coli and HeLa-cells, we only used organisms and did experiments within the S1 area. At all times, everyone took care that no GVOs got out of the lab and that the GVO-waste was disposed properly. The use of chemicals, materials and machines was introduced by a supervisor and always controlled to avoid mistakes or dangerous situations. The instructors of our team took care that every experiment was done safely. To make sure that the waste fulfills all the strict regulations instructions were made by the responsible persons of the university.
