The Max Gruber Foundation
The Max Gruber Foundation was established in 1983 by the late Professor Max Gruber and his wife Suzanne Gruber-Heinemann. Its major goal is to promote and support activities related to the advancement of research in biochemistry and cell biology at the University of Groningen. Major activities are the organization of an annual Max Gruber Lecture and, biannually, the Max Gruber Prize award. Stratingh Institute
The Stratingh Institute for Chemistry is a research institute at the Faculty of Science and Engineering of the University of Groningen. The mission of the Stratingh Institute for Chemistry is to perform excellent research and teaching in molecular and supramolecular chemistry. Core activities in the chemical sciences such as bio-organic chemistry, organic chemistry, molecular inorganic chemistry and molecular materials chemistry are embedded in the institute. The research programme is focussed on synthesis, catalysis, functional materials, bio-organic chemistry/chemical biology and systems chemistry/complex molecular systems.
Groningen Engineering Center (GEC)
The Groningen Engineering Center (GEC) offers a unique platform for interdisciplinary engineering research and education, gathering scientists who bridge fundamental sciences and applications in a comprehensive environment. They produce innovation in fields such as energy, materials and health. GEBC aims at encouraging and facilitating research and innovation of companies in the Northern Netherlands, as well as making the region more attractive for academically trained employees.
EV Biotech
EV Biotech is a microbial cell factory (MCF) strain development company. EV Biotech distinguishes itself by the use of state-of-the-art computational modelling. Bernoulli Institute

Groningen University Funds
The Groningen University Fund (GUF) was founded by the professors of the Groningen University. The aim of the GUF is to promote studying at the Groningen University. As means to archive this aim, the Fund sustains, among others, the following activities: subsidizing study-related travel abroad by students; subsidizing student excursions (accompanied by staff members); subsidizing scientific, cultural or sports activities by students within the framework of a student organization; subsidizing the organisation of international scientific conferences, symposia or workshops in Groningen or the northern Netherlands by scientists of the Groningen University; financially facilitating seminars and more.
