We human practice group came up with several questions for members of the UESTC-China, and both of us introduced our project to further exchange opinions and give pieces of advice or suggestions.

+

We also spilt our meeting into several parts.

+

In the first part, we demonstrated our experimental results, as well as the process and ideas of our project. Moreover, we showed our obstacles in making the recycled paper, from which the wastepaper cannot be deinked completely. Hence, through this process, the UESTC-China students gave us some inspiration about how to deink the paper precisely and efficiently by using evaporating water.

+

In the second part, the UEST shared their project about paper production. They first introduced the background of paper production, as well as the application of recycled paper. By searching the data online, they found out it is difficult to recycle the official wastepaper. Most importantly, they claimed that the pill and paper industry is the fifth largest consumer of energy accounting for 4% of all the worlds energy use, through which we realized the importance of recycling paper in daily use for protecting the environment. Therefore, they prefer to recycle the paper without any machines automatically.

+

However, in the process of making the automatic-recycled paper, they encountered several problems that they did not have ideas of the form of recording data. Therefore, we suggested they record the quality of the paper they produced at first and then estimate the rate of production individually in a fitful process.

+

Thirdly, we interviewed them by asking few questions, with questions as follow:

+

Q: What do you know about recycled paper?

+

A: Based on the investigation from the European paper union and China Paper Association, we can observe that recycled paper has captured a wide percentage of the market and is being used to a great extent, which has been widely used in box paper and office paper.

+

Q: Do you familiar with any issue of recycled paper?

+

A: Through the whole process of producing recycled paper in the industry, making the recycled paper will waste a huge amount of water and energy. Moreover, the national recycling process is not complete enough, and this will result in a low rate of importing paper from foreign countries with high external fees. As a result, the price of recycled paper is increased as well.

+

Q: How about your HP in progress?

+

A: Firstly, we want to know more about the requirement of our potential users. Moreover, we also want to interview some professors who specialize in paper production or recycled paper to know the situation in the current market. Secondly, by investigating the users, we want to analyze the feasibility and other application of our program that can suit the policy and develop more philosophical and moral perspectives.

+

Through this interview with the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, we have learned a lot about paper production and the current situation of recycled paper. We will still continue our friendship and constantly contact to share our opinions or suggestions about our program.
