Introduction
Background
Our world is undergoing unprecedented changes! In the past 2 years, COVID-19 had not only caused nearly 5,000,000 death cases around the world up to date, but also brought profound changes to people's live and social patterns, which caused many potential threats to people's health.
Obviously, individuals' mental health is greatly affected under the current circumstance, which is indicated by many reports that the ratio of people who suffer from mental health problems like insomnia, anxiety and depression is increasing. And it's hard to evaluate the loss those Sub-healthy mental states could lead to lower work efficiency, being easy to get sick and so on.
What worse, according to our interview and survey results, these mental health problems are not given enough attention and care, because many people won't seek for professional help in the hospital. Instead, they choose to cure these problems "by time", without other powerful and effective therapies to help them relieve the pain of these negative mood.
A Tryptophan Producer
Therefore, this year, XJTU-China decides to make differences to change this negative trend. After long-lasting investigation and brainstorm, we finally choose Tryptophan to be the main content of our project. We all know that Tryptophan is one of the essential amino acids our body must absorb every day. Tryptophan has also been proved that it can help people smooth their mood to some degree, which is an effective method to solve mental health problems mentioned above
Apart from that, considering the quarantine policy and the risk of going out, we further polish our project idea of designing a domestic milk machine with the function of producing tryptophan itself, which is science-based and user-friendly. Using tryptophan to relieve people from the pain of insomnia、depression and anxiety is what we are striving to achieve this year!
