Overview

Entrepreneurship is the act of creating a business in order to generate profit. Our ambition is to make our ELIXIO project marketable, and this is what we will study in this entrepreneurship section. Three main axes of reflection are discussed.

When studying the fragrance market, one quickly realizes that most of the odors in the products of our daily lives come from chemistry and are therefore derived from fossil resources and polluting processes. About the so-called natural odors, they come from plants that require space, water, and special attention, which ultimately makes the product not very sustainable. With synthetic biology, we want to make the scent market greener while remaining competitive with the other two major fragrance production methods. We have studied all these aspects in the implementation section.

Thanks to the results of the modeling, we were able to simulate the production at an industrial scale of our project. The purpose of the entrepreneurship section is to evaluate the economic, energy and environmental costs of a large-scale violet elixir production plant. It is very important to define the production method as well as the targeted customers to correctly evaluate the different costs associated with the factory. We were therefore able to estimate a selling price for our product as well as its environmental impact that we wanted to be as low as possible.

The questions of ethics, sustainable development and respect for the environment are very important for us and that is why we are very concerned about the potential problems that could rise from our project development. In the sustainability section, we tried to anticipate the different problems that ELIXIO could pose in the future.
