Booklet distribution:
To make our research more appealing and accessible for the community to get involved in the project and synthetic biology, we designed promotion posters, roll screens, and merch( notebooks, T-shirts, mugs), including our team’s mascot. Most of the design inspirations came from our topic: feed optimization. Eventually, the merch was sold at an outdoor market and was also available online. Problems such as not enough people paying attention to our stall existed, however soon we found a solution to this, improving online sales substantially. For instance, we relied on social media, where our friends and families could forward the e-shop to people they know. This was an effective way to proliferate the impact of our team, our project, synthetic biology and bioengineering on the community

Primary school education:
We planned to do a presentation in primary school. However, due to COVID, our original plan (to hold offline lectures for primary students) was canceled. However, we didn’t give up the thought. We decided to make videos about our topic and post them on Bilibili( a software for watching videos). In this way, not only the children but also people who have similar interests can all have the opportunity to learn about our research content through the videos.

We also established our official WeChat account to record our project progress, which has been shared with the public simultaneously. We published 15 articles through our WeChat account and won over 3000 views in total. These articles covered almost every aspect of our project, ranging from project background, to experiment procedures, to expert interviews, to online/offline peripheral products sales and to promotion videos.
