The implementation of educational activities helps us in building more comprehensive background information about hydrogen energy. Previously, we have conducted researches on hydrogen-related policies and the future market study of hydrogen ( refer to policy and market study for more details). The information is helpful, but it only gives us a theoretical and objective overview of the background information of hydrogen energy.

To ensure the feasibility of our project, more subjective viewpoints should be taken into account. We need to obtain a wider range of results from people located in different age groups and working in different enterprises. The best ways will be creating mutual learning and dialogue, supported by the use of questionnaires in analyzing results.

Therefore, we decide to conduct presentations through the use of Powerpoint, carry out interviews, and distribute questionnaires to the community. These materials can encourage open dialogues and conversations. In the in-class presentation section, both audiences and the team can gain new viewpoints around the topic. During the interview, dialogue can also be observed.

Our main target audience is the ordinary people in society and experts studying in the same field. For ordinary people, presentation is the most effective approach to introducing general knowledge. Open conversations could be easily built, and the exchange of opinions during the conversations is all worth recording. Interviews will be mainly used during the meeting with the experts. They have already gained profound knowledge in the area of hydrogen energy. Therefore such an open dialogue, more specific and targeted questions could be asked to gain more professional viewpoints. And the questionnaire can be used by both ordinary people and experts in demonstrating the general understanding of people about synthetic biology and hydrogen energy.

Both presentations, interviews, and questionnaires were conducted in electronic versions and can be done through only platforms, which enables them accessible to a wider audience. Also, they are easy to build upon: they are conducted in simple steps; the aim, target audience, and the way of performance could be easily determined; there are no high technical skills required to conduct those activities.

As the produced materials can be accessed to a wide range of audiences, the topic, which is introducing concepts of synthetic biology, hydrogen energy, and biohydrogen production can be promoted more efficiently. More importantly, we are looking forward to attracting more people, through conducting those educational activities, to engage and participate in synthetic biology.
