Hello guys! My name is Shengkai Lin. I'm a 17-year-old student at The No.3
MIddle School Of Fuzhou. I have a great interest in computers and can skillfully use various
programming languages such as C++, Python, Javascript, and so on. My research fields are
Algorithm and data structures, Website development and operation, and Big data analysis. As
a student that loves competition, I won the awards of NOIP and USACO. I also like taking
photos and doing video production. As the director of the photography department of the
student union and the founder of the school's TV station, I recorded many various moving
edits for the school. I am responsible for the part of the Promotion Video and other
promotional material. I hope our team can achieve good results.

Hi, my name is Chloe Fang, and I'm currently a junior attending SMIC private
school. What brought me to participate in this competition was my passion for biology and
marketing. My principal role, as the leader of the dry lab and human practice teams, was to
communicate with the lab team. I tried to ensure that they progressed at the same pace,
planned our schedule, and improved our wiki. iGEM has been my most eye-opening experience.
While we were all working hard on the project, there was never boredom; the room would
always be filled with laughter, constructive feedback, and animated debates. I left the
summer gaining new knowledge and amazing friends!

Hi everyone, my name is Ali Zhang. I am a senior studying in Pennsylvania and
I am working hard to pursue a business major. In my free time, I'm usually playing
volleyball since it cheers me up. I like to talk to people and actively listen to them. This
program provides me with full opportunities to express myself and negotiate with others.
Additionally, iGEM explores a newer world with more biology background for me.

Hello everyone, I am Xiong Junjie, my English name is Jason. I'm currently in
grade 10 and I am studying in a high school in Toronto, Canada. My hobbies are singing,
playing the piano, reading, playing basketball and badminton. Also, I like playing games,
such as Minecraft and Wild Fighting. One of the reasons that I joined iGEM is that I want to
major in biology and economics. Personally, I am an enthusiastic learner and am not afraid
of challenges so this competition allowed me to show my capacities.

Hello everyone, my name is Eric Zou. You can just call me Eric. My hometown is
Jiangxi Nanchang, but I am currently studying in an American high school as a senior
student. For my hobbies, I like playing soccer and basketball, as well as swimming and
mountain biking. Adding on, I'm always falling in love with new books and traveling. The
reason that I joined iGEM is that I enjoy the atmosphere of discussion, fundraising events,
and the process of making friends. Even though it is sometimes hard, the experience and
knowledge that I gained will not fade away. Wish we can get medals!

Magic and music are my best interests. Immersed in the world of magic and music, I can empty
myself, release my pressure in performing, and have in-depth communication with my friends.
In the process of founding a magic club and band, I gradually realized the importance of
leading you to accomplish some achievements together in leadership and my interest in the
business. That's why I joined iGEM to exercise my leadership and try my ideas through
bioengineering.

international high school student in the US. My school is in VA. My hobbies are singing,
swimming, playing some video games, and read online novels. I joined iGEM because I want to
take business classes during college time so I'd like to have some practical experience in
that area. I am a member of the iGEM human practices team and write blogs for our WeChat
official account. I will try my best to help our team get the gold prize.

Hi, I am Jiangtianyuhan, my English name is Miranda. I'm currently in grade 10
and I am studying in a high school in Wuhan. My hobbies are listening to music, reading,
watching movies and playing badminton. I joined iGEM because I want to major in economics
like a lot of my teammates. I get along pretty well with new people and I like learning from
others in the process of making friends. I also hope that I show my value and learn more new
skills in this competition.

Hi! My name is Lori Huang. I am in grade 10. I'm studying in Jiangsu Province
Changzhou senior high school. In school, I am a member of the Students' Union. I am willing
to help others and have many hobbies such as dancing and playing the piano. History and
biology are my favorite subjects. I really like telling friends interesting history stories.
Also, I am interested in doing lab projects and using different ways to experiment. Multiple
experimental phenomena really attracts me. From this experience of iGEM, I hope to study

now. I am a student at St. Thomas High School in Houston, Texas. I love many outdoor sports
such as Formula 1, basketball, and soccer. In addition, I prefer to dip myself into music
during my free time. I have played guitar for 3 years, and I like to create my own beats by
using Garageband. Speaking to studying, I am looking forward to choosing Finance as a major
for my future development. I truly enjoy the enthusiastic and intense feeling that business

I am here because the iGEM competition meets my desire for biological targets and will be helpful to my academic knowledge and skills in the laboratory. I am Kelly Le, an IB student with Biology and Chemistry as my HLs. A few years back, I have developed a strong interest in these subjects and was amazed at how scientists progressively understand the natural world that was unknown to humans before and strived for the well-being of humanity. Fascinated by the sophisticated lab apparatus and their varied combined usage, later on, I was again convinced that these fields, requiring vast reserve of knowledge, logical, rigorous, and creative thinking are what I love and which I have the potential to study. Being the leader of the experimental team, iGEM develops my leadership, enriches my professional knowledge and skills, and it also firms my determination to continue exploring these areas.

Hello, I'm AngJun Li or you can call me Leon which is my English name. Now, I'm currently studying in a high school in New Jersey. During the preparation of the iGEM competition, I played an important role in the group. In the lab, I learned a lot of new bio knowledge and also helped other team members in many different ways. A laboratory is a great place for me to really use that knowledge from the book. The experience with iGEM is particularly unique; it is different from all the other competitions that I had enrolled in. This competition could help to build my career in the future, and it led me to see modern genetic engineering and showing me all other issues going on in this area.

My name is Mary Zhang, a grade 11 student from Shanghai United International school. I am very interested in the subject of biology, especially in the field of genetic editing and other related fields. However, all my knowledge is restricted to textbook knowledge. Therefore, I consider this as an opportunity for me to become more familiar with the practical and the business side of biology, and to acquire a more rounded knowledge of biology. At the same time, I could present my talent in the art for all design and illustrations involved in the promotional part of our project. My name is Simba Huang and I'm 17. As a high school student, this is my first time attending iGEM while as this kind of competition. As a student who put his aim on biology-related majors, iGEM would be a great experience for a student like me that haven't gone into a lab or done any experiments-related project. I feel like iGEM would bring students like me to another level of science which not only includes learning basic knowledge but also applying them for our experiment. This competition is not just about knowing more knowledge than the other team or doing more advanced experiments but it can serve as the means to know and cooperate with the team in order to bring the most out of all members. I really do look forward to seeing my team thrive in this iGEM competition.

My name is Yvonne Sun, a Senior One student of British International High School in Shanghai. I am very interested in biochemistry, especially molecular biology. I hope my future study and life will revolve around biochemistry, because I think the current biotechnology has benefited a lot of human beings. Therefore, I think iGEM is not only an opportunity for me to cooperate with peers in research, but also an experience to expand my scope of laboratory knowledge. This is my first year as an iGEMer and participating in this event, and I believe that this experience has given me a better understanding of how modern genetic engineering works and what new technologies we can use to solve problems that are occurring around the world.
