I participate in iGEM hoping to learn knowledge and experimental skills as well as to meet new friends. As the team leader, I was mainly responsible for the experiment, design, inclusivity, and other work. It's great luck to meet all my teammates!

Back in 2019 when I first entered university, my seniors recommended iGEM to me, saying that it was a very challenging competition. In 2021, as expected, I became a member of the Fudan team.
In this team, I have made like-minded friends and together we are on our way to prepare for the competition. This experience will be one of the most important memories in my life.

My initial heart to participate in the iGEM is to learn the relevant biological experiment technology, know more friends, and expand my horizon. # Peisong Yan
I joined iGEM hoping to solve real-life problems with biology. After this experience, I would say I have fulfilled my initial goal. Candida Camera has great potential and genuinely addresses an issue previously neglected. During this process I had the chance of tackling a real problem with mathematical modeling, talking with strangers about our project, and most importantly, working alongside talented teammates.
# Renbin Liu
\1. I have a great interest in natural sciences and engineering sciences, especially life sciences and computer science. I thought long ago that they should be combined (like synthetic biology) so we can utilize the creativity in our brain to promote scientific and technological progress.
\2. I hope to join a small team with like-minded partners and strive for a common goal. I enjoy the process of working hard for the team. I think it can mobilize my enthusiasm.
\3. I expect to learn a lot of knowledge in life sciences, computer science, mathematics, and communication, as well as skills in experimental techniques, teamwork, design, display, human practices, and so on.
\4. I feel very honored to represent Fudan in international competitions.
# Kana Ren
I participated in various activities of Human Practice. My role in the team was to a linkage between the scientific world in the lab and the real world of daily life.
Through various Human Practice activities, I can say that I gradually began to discover, understand, and contemplate on my community, society, and the world I live in. It is the activities of promoting and popularizing biology that gradually helped me realize that the energy barrier of learning biology varies for different groups of people. So I try to understand the world standing in their shoes. This makes me reflect occasionally and consciously on whether I am inclusive enough in my life, whether infrastructure construction, laws, and regulations have taken these marginalized groups into consideration and respect their human rights, the same as everyone else.
In order to realize the free and all-around development of all people, including our team members and students in Fudan University, as well as people with intellectual disabilities and retired senior citizens. I think these inclusivities are very important.
# Shitao Gong
I'm interested in biology and computer programming, which always keep me energetic. It was in my freshmen year in university that I first heard iGEM, and I decided to participate without hesitation at that time. During the whole year, I got involved in almost all aspects of iGEM, ranging from promoting our project to lab work and coding. The difference between all these works made it possible for me to try to switch my mindset and be more creative.
# Wencheng Shao
To meet more friends, I joint the iGEM team. During parameter tuning and model construction, I learnt how to cooperate with other teammates. I felt a great sense of gratification when the figures came out and finally can predict the results of experiments.

I participate in iGEM to satisfy my curiosity of syn-biology. as a director and programmer in this team, i learnt a lot and have a precious time with my teamates. during this process, i begin to learnt what a scientific research is and how to give contributions to the whole society.

Our curiosity and love for life sciences brought us together. The encounter with iGEM may be by chance, or maybe it was destiny. I am glad that I met iGEM on that sunny afternoon and was fortunate to be a member of Fdu_iGEM2021. Impulsiveness many times brings remorse, but I was lucky to have chosen a path that brought me much joy, friendship, and knowledge in this impulse. I hope I can always keep my love, curiosity and hard work in my future path as well.

I attended iGEM for my love for biology. As the major designer of the project, I have greatly improved myself and gained self-confidence in scientific research during the process. The experience obtained from attending iGEM is invaluable. I'll keep working hard in the field of biology research, making iGEM experience a lifelong wealth.
