Mutual guidance with the “Beer Jet” team (Beijing_United)

We collaborated with the Beer Jet team (Beijing_United) in order to help each other out. They helped us out with the Business plan that we will write about, including organization structure, product introduction, and cost analysis. We help them with social marketing, pricing, research methods, experiment notes, and conclusion for group topics. We would create a group call almost daily to stay connected and get help with obstacles that come our way. After being acquainted with them, we believe that their project is significant and valuable for the public. Communicating with them benefits both them and us.

Collaboration with “Dr.phage (Shanghai_United_HS)”

We collaborated with the Dr.phage team (Shanghai_United_HS) on July 21. They helped us with the future possible applications, including creating an actual product, selling the technology to companies, or cooperating with suppliers, the details of expectations for financial supports. Also, they told us how to find target customers. We suggested they survey and collect the data about whether they will accept this new possible product for children’s parents because their users are children who are too young. Finally, we helped them write a business plan with several parts, including company description, marketing plan, and future applications.

Collaboration with the “Neuron target” team (Nanjing_high_school)

To push the research of both teams, we collaborated with the Neuron target team(Nanjing_high_school). They shared some experience on how to write a business plan. For example, the plan of selling products, the obstacles they met, the competitiveness of their products and the customers, an estimate of the budget, and the future market outlook for the products they developed. We also give them some ways to promote our topic to the public, communicate with the wet team, and solve the troubles when we met them. After being acquainted with them, such as the purpose of their research, the target audiences they are focus on, and the future of the products they are now studying with, we know that their topic is very useful and meaningful for the public. We communicate with each other on WeChat to keep connected every day to solve the problems immediately. The communication between the two teams is mutually beneficial.

Collaboration with the “Silent Spring” team (ECNUAS)

This time we worked with the team 'Silent Spring'(ECNUAS). They aim to use cell-free atrazine biosensors to detect atrazine(herbicide) in water, food, and other items. We had a disagreement between the dry and wet teams over the product's design, so we asked them how the dry and wet teams would work together. They responded that they didn't start with separate dry and wet teams because they were short-staffed, and they were more familiar with each other than our team. So, it is essential to communicate with people in the early stages to build up a relationship and get to know each other well before working together. Afterward, we asked them how often they communicate with each other. After the wet and dry teams were separated, they also had less communication, but their instructors informed them of the product design requirements in advance. This tells us that unified planning upfront is significant. If it is not discussed up front, disagreements are likely to arise later. The question that followed was about resources. As we spoke to the wet team later on, we expanded our audience to the factory, but we now had no way of getting into the factory to conduct interviews. They told us that we could go and read some papers, interview some experts, listen to insights, or even talk to customer service on Taobao. So even though we couldn't get into the factory, we could find out what the factory wanted through the people involved. Next, we asked them for advice on their experience with charity sales. What we learned was that it can be done through a combination of online and offline methods. There is a lot of buying online and a lot of promotion offline. By combining the two methods, you achieve both benefits. We then asked how to compensate if the offline sales were not satisfactory. They said they could ask people willing to buy to follow the public website and then distribute it. We also asked about marketing methods on the wiki. They told us that we could also look at the charity sale method, combining online and offline. Then also, the price could be determined before establishing a marketing plan. For the investment, they didn't do it. This is because there is a strict form of investment that has to be applied for online. Most of the time, strangers don't want to come forward to us, so we have to step up our efforts to promote it.

They asked us about what things can wet team and dry team work together. We replied that our team designed our logo and team name together at the beginning of our project. But after that dry team began to do their work, and wet team began their experiment. We also helped Silent Spring with their experiment. In the experiment, some of their team members' mistakes led to a series of problems in the later period, and eventually, the colony could not be cultivated. The suggestion from our team is to believe we do not give up. If the experiment fails in the later stage, what measures will be taken? We had a similar problem; we made a severe mistake cultivating the colony. But we immediately summarized the experiment and analyzed it. We tried several times, try to avoid issues identified earlier. In the beginning, when our team failed in the experiment, we were very anxious, but we were taught and comforted by the coach. It's normal to fall in the course of an investigation. We need to encourage them. As a result, our team atmosphere has become much better.

Collaboration with the ”FlavoneLabRouse” team(Shanghai_HS_United)

We collaborated with the FlavoneLabRouse team, we shared our ways of teamwork and effective interaction with the wet team. After our communication, we learned that they worked with the wet team in Tencent conference, an online office software, in the evening when the dry and wet team were working at different locations during the day. This was a great inspiration for us that our team members could also work together in this way after summer vacation when we can't gather together. They also learned from us that all team members working together in the hotel face to face would be an excellent way for brainstorming and producing efficiently. Besides, it was constructive for them that they noticed that each team member of us was responsible for a particular part of the bountiful document writing which could work for them as well. we both enjoyed and learned from our collaboration with each other.
