We published a series of articles about synthetic biology and iGEM on the official Wechat account of RDFZ ICC. The purpose is to disseminate some information to students especially those who are interested in biology. Considering the readers contain a variety of grade groups and backgrounds, we decided to start from the most basic part. We first talked about synthetic biology and iGEM, introducing this sub-discipline of biology. Next, we talk about some fundamental techniques used in Biologies, such as PCR and electrophoresis. Moreover, we introduce the project of RDFZ-China in 2020 and 2021. According to the comments under the article, students gain a lot of knowledge and useful information during this series. Based on statistics, there are more than 1000 reading records.

Local School Synthetic Biology Education
We visited Chaoyang School Attached to Beijing Normal University and introduced synthetic biology to the grade seven students.
We started by making an analogy between the game Heartstone and synthetic biology, intending to make the nature of synthetic biology easier to understand. We briefly introduced the history of synthetic biology, emphasizing important time periods in which significant advancements were made.
Then, we explained the underlying biological knowledge that is needed to understand the essence of synthetic biology, answering questions like what is DNA, what are proteins, and how does DNA control the kinds of protein the cell makes.
Later, we made the students think of methods to make E. coli smell like tulips, introducing students to the method of thinking and solving questions as a synthetic biologist. We winded up our lecture by summarizing how is synthetic biology benefiting people nowadays, and guessing what could synthetic biology accomplish in the future.
