Coding Workshop with the Lethbridge University Team During the Summer, we met up with Lethbridge’s University iGEM team to host a coding workshop. Where we learned the basics of coding and got to practise with them as preparation for building our eventual website. Tech Futures Challenge We initially pitched our idea in MindFuel’s annual Tech Future Challenge where we won Best Sustainability Project! During the competition, we had the opportunity to get valuable feedback regarding our project. Notably, our initial herbicide design of the application by robotic usage was scrapped after it was pointed out that a robot could damage the environment. At the final prototype showcase we won the Mobility Quotient Award for Best Sustainability Project.
Alberta High School iGEM Symposium Our team helped to organize a small symposium for the Alberta high school iGEM teams. Each team presented their project and answered questions. Fabian, an advisor from the U of L iGEM team, then provided an workshop on biosafety and biosecurity.
