INTRODUCTION

Agrobactory 593 addresses some of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that were adopted by the United Nations as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity. As a biopesticide production platform, this project would enable the progressive displacement of the use of chemical pesticides within agriculture. In this context, our project is aligned with the SDGs that promote sustainable agricultural practices, food security, and the development of ecologically safe technologies for transfer to developing countries (such as Ecuador), On the other hand, agriculture is a fundamental area in Ecuador. Our project aims to develop a technology that will allow us to maintain and secure the jobs of thousands of Ecuadorian families who depend on this type of employment. In this sense, our proposal is aligned with that of "Decent Work and Economic Growth".

Goal 2: End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture

We believe that our project addresses the target 2.4:Ensure sustainable food production systems and implement resilient agricultural practices that increase productivity and production, that help maintain ecosystems, that strengthen capacity for adaptation to climate change, extreme weather, drought, flooding, and other disasters.

One of the main goals of our project is to ensure the production of different crops in our country and, by generating a biopesticide that can target any kind of plague we can protect the agriculture sector and help increase productivity, decrease the risk of losing crops and help maintain the endogenous ecosystems.

Goal 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages

Agrobactory 593 addresses the target 3.9: substantially reduce the number of deaths and illnesses from hazardous chemicals and air, water and soil pollution and contamination.

It is known that Pesticides can cause short-term adverse health effects, called acute effects, as well as chronic adverse effects that can occur months or years after exposure [2]. Agrobactory 593 aims to reduce, and we will dare to say, almost eliminate this problem because this technology is gene-specific and will harm neither the users of this technology nor the people that will consume the final product.

Goal 8: Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all

In that matter, our project addresses the target 8.1: Sustain per capita economic growth in accordance with national circumstances and, in particular, at least 7 per cent gross domestic product growth per annum in the least developed countries

This project is essential in this case because 50% of the GDP is produced by agriculture in Ecuador, which means that improving this sector will promote the economical growth of our country and help a lot of families to improve their living conditions by protecting this sector and developing new resources that will ensure this growth.

Goal 9: Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation

We believe that Agrobactory 593 addresses the target 9.5: Enhance scientific research, upgrade the technological capabilities of industrial sectors in all countries, in particular developing countries, including encouraging innovation and substantially increasing the number of research and development workers per 1 million people and public and private research and development spending.

Our project is not just an innovative technology itself, but also an opportunity to develop other research related to this and an opportunity to show the value of synthetic biology projects in the industry.

Goal 15: Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss

In that matter, our project addresses the target 15.6: Introduce measures to prevent the introduction and significantly reduce the impact of invasive alien species on land and water ecosystems and control or eradicate the priority species

Our project uses a bacterial platform from endogenous bacteria in the soil, with this we will reduce the environmental impact of this species at the same time that helps eradicate the plagues in the crops.
