Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, CityU.

He provided valuable ideas and practical advice, guidance, training and coordinated the operations of the entire iGEM team. He was instrumental in securing financial support for all aspects of this year’s iGEM activities.

Dr. MATSUDA Yudai-Secondary PI

Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, CityU.

He provided valuable insights on biosynthetic engineering of natural products, and our iGEM project is based on his inspiration and he has provided the team with lots of suggestions, know-hows and support in establishing the Aspergillus as a fungal host for synthetic biology.

Dr. BABAK Maria-Secondary PI

Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, CityU.

She has been immensely helpful and knowledgeable on anticancer bioassays and provided us with expert guidance to design bioassays for the variecolin derivatives generated in our iGEM project.

Talented Instructors

Dr. Tse Man Kit-Scientific Officer, Department of Chemistry, CityU. He provided us with technical support on NMR spectroscopy to determine the structures of our variecolin derivatives.

WAN Teng-PhD student, Department of Chemistry, CityU. He supported our iGEM team on all aspects of the iGEM project and helped us with the overall coordination of wet labs (on bioengineering), stocking our lab on materials, and meetings between students and our advisors.

YAN Dexiu-PhD student, Department of Chemistry, CityU. She has enthusiastically guided us on all experimental procedures related to the growth and genetic manipulation of Aspergillus, solvent extraction of bioactive compounds, HPLC purification, and many technical help.

ARAKELYAN Jemma-Jemma is a certified medical oncologist (MD) and a PhD student working on discovery of anticancer drugs with immune-modulating properties. She patiently taught us the cytotoxicity studies and provided guidance on basic cell culture.

YANG Zhen-PhD student, Department of Computer Science, CityU. He provided technical support of our Wiki page Design.
