WLC-Milwaukee created a hands-on laboratory kit for teaching gene regulation, the foundation of synthetic biology. Using the regulatory components of the lac operon, students can use BlacOps to learn the fundamental principles of synthetic biology.

Parts
We have created a parts collection that allows for the regulation of b-lactamase expression based on environmental sugar concentrations. Our lab kit uses these parts to visualize expression of b-lactamase with a color change.
