The group has 6 members (Carolina Panchana, Vanessa Gaona, Xavier Montalvo, Lorena Troya, Tannya Sandoval, Camila Armas)Identification of genes for RNA silencing in Fusarium oxysporum (FOC) f. sp. cubense race 1 was carried out by Camila Armas and Carolina Panchana. The first stage for obtaining dsRNA was carried out by Jean Herdoiza. Vanessa Gaona, under the instruction of Estefany Paredes, performed the assemblies corresponding to the plasmid optimization for dsRNA production. Carolina Panchana and Fernanda Arias worked on part improvement of lysis protein.Xavier Montalvo and Lorena Troya obtained conidia of FOC race 1 for inhibition assays. Tannya Sandoval and Camila Gallegos supported the standardization of techniques.

Otto Heringer (Chemist with specialization in biochemistry and molecular biology) and Jennifer Tapia (Biotechnology engineer and OSU master's degree candidate) kindly gave us the strain E.coli HT115 and L4440 plasmid for our assays.

PhD Yadira Boada donated some plasmids from the Valencia_UPV iGEM team 2018 and collaborated with the Module 2 Delivery and Release assays.

Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense race 1 strain was provided by Freddy Magdama PhD from ESPOL university, Ecuador.

DryLab (Modeling)

Team Leaders

Stefania Montesinos organized and delegated the activities, supervised by Natalia Torres.

Team Players

The group consists of 4 members (Camila Gallegos, Carolina Panchana, Tannya Sandoval, Sharon Ortiz)

The homology and specificity analysis of the proposed genes, as well as the design of their dsRNAs, was carried out by Carolina Panchana, under the guidance of Estefany Paredes. The design of the cassettes, in silico assemblies and the design of primers for the entire project; it was made by Stefania Montesinos, Camila Gallegos, Tannya Sandoval and Sharon Ortiz ; with the guidance and instruction of Natalia Torres, Juan Carlos Luzuriaga and Camila Velandia. The modeling was in charge of Stefania Montesinos with the constant support of Natalia Torres and the help of Juan Carlos Luzuriaga and Camila Velandia.

Support mentors

A special thanks to our second PI, PhD Yadira Boada, who guided and supported us in the design of cassettes and modeling of our project.

Hardware

Team Leader

Luis Moyano organized and delegated the activities.

Team Players

Special recognition to all participants in the Hardware team: Karla Gaona, Jonathan Gavilanes, Sharon Ortiz y Paul Ramirez for the effort and dedication in fulfilling the activities required throughout the device construction.

Support mentors

A special thanks to our mentors who were a fundamental part of the design and construction of the teams. Fernando (from Valencia UPV 2016 iGEM team) advised us on the design of the fluorometer explaining the fundamentals of its operation and previous experiences. Yadira Boada helped us with the design and selection of the filters as well as the communication with different experts such as Fernando. Eduardo Tayupanta advises us on IOT communication which allows us to connect the devices to the internet.

Yadira Boada Researcher & Associate Professor, Instituto de Automática e Informática Industrial, Spain.

Nobel Santos Electrical engineer specialized in control. Currently, he studying for an industrial automation master in the UPV. He entered the world of biotechnology by chance, however, he is here to stay.

Eduardo Tayupanta Electronic Engineer in Automation and Control in 2018 and Master's Degree in Artificial Intelligence in 2020. He participated in companies such as Ecuagraphic, ENS Electronics, ESPE Innovativa E.P. as a software developer and with the company Mobility in the implementation of Control Systems for the Floricola FlowerVillage. He works as an IoT Technology Administrator at AXXIS Medical Center and teaches programming classes at ESPE Innovativa E.P.

Wiki (Graphic Design)

Team leaders

Sharon Ortiz led the organization of the activities.

Team Players

The group has 1 member, Stefania Montesinos a, she worked on the wiki alongside Sharon, they designed the wiki website and organized the information collected from each group: Wetlab, Drylab, and others, so that it is clearly projected on the wiki. They received recommendations from Estefany Paredes and Daniela Sempertegui The entire team did a great creative job.

Support Mentors

Yadira Boada provided feedback about wiki information Ricardo Alejandro, who helped us raise money for our team. Luis Torres, he helped us design some icons for our project. Leandro Alvarez, he helped us by instructing us on the code we need to know from the wiki.

Collaborators

Interns Bryan Cevallos, Fátima Guanoluisa, Milenka Vera y Josselyn Chacón helped us with the development of the wiki. Fátima designed the icons for representing our subgroups.
