Attributions

Team CAU_China 2021 takes everyone's strengths into account and enables our team to give full play to everyone's maximum potential. Our work involves experimental design, concept proposal, material purchase, laboratory security, human practice and so on. We sincerely thank each member for their contribution to the team. Outside the team, there are many people who have given great convenience and assistance to our team. We sincerely thank them as well.

Our devoted team members:

Li Mingyang (student leader)

Identified the target substance γ-PGA and the chassis used for transformation, namely Corynebacterium glutamicum; Led the project that make Corynebacterium glutamicum produce γ-PGA through genetic engineering; Proposed the basic framework of suicide circuit and suggestions for metabolic transformation;
Responsible for all the chores occurred in our project; Participated in the establishment and optimization of cellular automaton model and the establishment of ordinary differential equation model; Trained the team's pre-iGEMers in basic experimental skills.

Yang Feiyue (student leader)

Led the background research in restoration mechanisms of γ-PGA and the survival of bacteria; Responsible for experiments related with our kill switch;
Made and gave the presentations of our projects in CCiC, Online Academy, and education in primary school; One of our presenters in the Presentation Video; Responsible for the structure and examination of all materials on our wiki; Participated in the application of Cellular Automaton Model and training of our pre-iGEMers.

Wang Yiwei

One of the experimental leader in our team; Responsible for the work of constructing a glutamatic acid high-yielding strain for Corynebacterium glutamicum through ppc overexpression; Led the background research and actively participated in brainstorming and design;
Gave presentations in team meet-ups and education in synthetic biology; Participated in the visit to Sino Green Agri-Biotech.

Wang Boshuang

Leader of Human Practices in our team; Responsible for contacting other teams, holding community science popularization lectures, and all things involved in education, collaborations and partnership; Participated in the construction of the gene circuit in γ-PGA synthesis.

Wu Yuexin

Leader of art&design group in our team; Organized the structure of our promotion video and edited until the final version; Designed icons on Wiki pages and drew illustrations; Organized the team photo shooting; Participated in the construction of gene circuit in γ-PGA synthesis and accumulated experience for the experiments of the team; Gave presentations in the education with the Experimental Middle School affiliated to Beijing Normal University; Responsible for our presentation video design.

Li Can

Lab Manager; Participated in the odhA experiments; Involved in the production of cultural and creative products and some web page drawings; Responsible for the editing of project videos; Responsible for the production of illustrations and textbook layout of popular science textbooks of synthetic biology; Participated in typesetting and proofreading, and the writing and integration of some teaching materials; Responsible for purchasing reagents, ordering sequencing service and other lab chores.

Han Hanwen

Participated in the experiment of determining the efficiency of Patp2 and PgsiB; Process some audio and video materials; Drew some vector icons of our wiki pages and translate our handbook in education; Responsible for ducmentation of experiments in kill switch.

Guo Sirui

Participated in the construction of gene circuit in γ-PGA synthesis and the building in RNAi route; Participate in art&design work, providing picture elements, posters and web design in the video; Assisted in writings on our wiki and WeChat account.

Geng Wanying

Participated in the construction in RNAi route; Invloved in visit to Sino Green Agri-Biotech; Assisted in writings on our wiki and WeChat accounts.

Liu Yujia

Participated in the design of odhA-RNAi route and team uniform; Responsible for contacting Sino Green Agri-Biotech, the Experimental Middle School affiliated to Beijing Normal University, and some professors; Assisted in writings on our wiki and WeChat accounts.

Wang Fengyi

Responsible for the experiment of determining the efficiency of the promoter Patp2 and PgsiB; Participated in writings on lab rules and WeChat Account; Responsible for ducmentation of experiments in kill switch; Responsible for inclusivity work.

Xiong Liuchang

Participated in the search of polyglutamic acid production components; Involved in the construction of kill switch and the testing of ndoA; Participated in the communication with professors; Involved in visit to Sino Green Agri-Biotech and collaborations.

Zhang Yan

Responsible for the wiki web page design, providing technical support including Hyper Text Markup Language, JavaScript, and C#.

Zhang Yujian

Responsible for the construction of the kill switch and testing of ndoA, the toxic gene; Responsible for the building of odhA-RNAi route; Responsible for ducmentation of experiments in kill switch; Responsible for the construction of the composite part in kill switch.

Zheng Yang

Responsible for all experiments in the knockdown of odhA by changing its RBS; Participated in writings on our wiki and WeChat accounts.

Zhou Xiaoya

Responsible for the wiki web page design and communication between coders and lab workers, providing technical support including but not limited to HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

General Support:

As the advisors of our team, they have given us guidance in team formation, topic determination and matters related to iGEM competition.

Wang Ran

As a professional advisor, Wang Ran gave us guidance on iGEM related regulations, processes, project design and member selection.

Li Zixuan

As a professional advisor, Li Zixuan gives us guidance in team formation and experimental design.

Wang Na

As the PI of the laboratory, Ms. Wang gave us great help. She conducted safety education and training for us and gave professional guidance when our experimental progress stagnated. In addition, she also helped us contact the primary school affiliated to China Agricultural University.

Tian Changfu

As the secondary PI of the laboratory, Mr. Tian gave us detailed guidance on our experimental design, experimental methods, subject progress and future prospects.

Yang Jinshui

As the instructor of the team, Mr. Yang gave us professional guidance in project design, literature research and HP work.

Human Practice Support:

Thank Ms. Xu Li for her guidance in the background investigation of saline alkali land.
