She offered guidance concerning any lab experiments that we conducted.

Dr. Evangelos Topakas, Associate Professor at the school of Chemical Engineering of NTUA and our Secondary PI, gave us valuable advice regarding the isolation of the Pfu polymerase as well as the produced dNTPs. He also provided us a space within his lab as well as the necessary equipment for a significant portion of our experiments.

Dr. Panagoula Kollia, Professor at the Biology department of NKUA and our Secondary PI, welcomed our team into her lab and provided us with a meeting space to work in.

Elena Pappa, Lab technician at the Biology department of NKUA and our Instructor, aided us with our experiments and was the supervisor of our laboratory space, providing us with any supplies we did not possess.

Dr. George Taxeidis, PhD student in the Industrial Biotechnology and Biocatalysis lab at the School of Chemical Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and our Instructor. He provided us with really helpful information regarding the isolation and purification processes of Pfu as well as for the dNTP mixture. He also guided us and gave us crucial advice daily in the lab.

Dr. Apostolos Alissandratos, Honorary Lecturer at Australian National University (ANU) College of Science and our Advisor. He advised us during the preliminary stages of our project and gave us helpful advice for the production of our genetic circuit, as well as during the final purification stages. He also contributed to the understanding of the problem we address and the impact of our product in the international scientific community and remote diagnostic centers.

Dr. Vassili N. Kouvelis, Assistant Professor of Genetics and Biotechnology and Primary Instructor at the Genetics lab of the Biology department of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens. As well as all the members of the Genetics lab, for their help as well as for providing us with many consumables and equipment.

Nikolaos Kalavros, Bioinformatician, iGEM Athens 2019 member and our Advisor. He provided both scientific and technical help for every aspect of the project. He also helped us with the editing and design of our promotion video and graphics. Let’s don’t forget to mention what a great friend he was in difficult moments for our team this year!

Anastasios Galanis, Researcher at Oxford Nanopore Technologies, iGEM Athens 2019 member and our Advisor. He gave us valuable advice regarding the design of our genetic circuit as well as for the experimental design of our project. He also offered us valuable help in troubleshooting and hands-on tips and tricks.
