SAFETY
Our laboratory is a biosafety level 1 laboratory. The team members have received safety training from the teacher in charge of the laboratory, and have the awareness of safety experiment. During the experiment, we strictly abide by the laboratory safety rules to ensure that the experiment process is safe and error-free, and the relevant responsible teacher supervises and guides our experiment operations throughout the process.
The Bacillus subtilis wb600 (chassis organism), Escherichia coli DH5ɑ, and Escherichia coli BL21 that we use are all non-pathogenic bacteria with high safety. The hazardous chemicals used in the experiment, sodium selenite Na2SeO3, hydrochloric acid HCl, and aflatoxin, are classified and stored in accordance with relevant regulations, and a dedicated person is responsible, also, when we use these hazardous reagent, our instructors will guide throughout the process.
We only use non-pathogenic organism strains, and aseptically operate during the experiment, so that the strains will not die or lose. All strains in the laboratory should be recorded by the person in charge of strains, and obvious labels should be affixed to the strains, indicating the name, culture medium, conservator, date, number, etc.
Toxic and hazardous reagents, dangerous drugs, etc. are classified and stored in accordance with relevant regulations. To use toxic drugs or gases, the room must be ventilated and should be carried out in a fume hood or exhaust hood as much as possible.
The experimental personnel have received safety training. The experimental process strictly follows the laboratory safety regulations. Students doing experiment wear overalls and sterile gloves when working. After the experiment is completed, the area, experimental instruments and utensils where the experiment is carried out are disinfected or inactivated.
