## Team leaders

|| Anton Agapov |![https://static.igem.org/mediawiki/2021/d/df/T--LMSU--AntonA.jpeg](*Team Leader*) ||
|| Place of study / work: | LMSU, Faculty of Biotechnology; Winogradsky Institute of Microbiology, Laboratory of extremophilic procaryotic metabolisms ||
|| Scientific interest: | Extremophilic organism physiology and engineering ||
|| Motivation for participation in iGEM: | I decided to gather a team for the iGEM project to get to thick outside of the box; to take a grasp of the real world; to try to do good for the society and humanity. As none of us have any iGEM experience, it was a kind of an experiment, and I am thrilled to see how it all turned out. Despite not all things went successfully, I will definitely put my effort into further development of the project. ||
|| Favourite memory about iGEM '21: | The arrival of live meetings! They were so awesome and productive after the online ones, and all of the team members were excited to see each other and to brainstorm jointly. Looking back, the majority of the right decisions were made in person, and I wish that we could have met more often. ||

|| Lidia Bobrovnikova | ![https://static.igem.org/mediawiki/2021/5/58/T--LMSU--LidaB.jpeg](*Team Leader*) ||
|| Place of study / work: | LMSU, Faculty of Biotechnology; IPPRAS, Laboratory of microalgae ecophysiology ||
|| Scientific interest: | Genomic and epigenomic regulation, plant physiology, microalgae ||
|| Motivation for participation in iGEM:| In retrospect, I can say that iGEM does provide every participant with unique experience. I believe that even though we weren't able to achieve all the primary goals, we were able to make a huge progress and collect a comprehensive basis for the upcoming LMSU teams. Having no background we were able to make our idea so well-known and successful and that says for itself. ||
|| Favourite memory about iGEM '21: | Having a team meeting with pizza at the pond after a long period of quarantine on a sunny and warm evening ||

|| Motivation for participation in iGEM:| To learn how to combine research and presentation of my work. I was attracted by the opportunity to visualise science and popularise science. I wanted to develop my skills of team work, decision making and delegation. Personally, it was a challenge for me to come out of my comfort zone and aim to a huge goal. ||
|| Favourite memory about iGEM '21: | When we met at pond, ate pizza, discussed our plans and current duties and played with Andrei's dog! It was a wonderful weather that day! And also I love a memory about our final idea choice: me, Anton and Lidia attended a team meeting while we were alpine skiing 🙂 ||
