- Thomas will reach out to Rachna from IISER Mohali, and Dipshika from IISc for lab space
- There are some changes in rules from the Ministry on how CSR funds may be used, wait till meeting with Shubhangi and Kundan from the endowment committee to figure out what the issue is with regards to Scivic Engineering's money.
- IISER is allowing day scholars with negative RT PCR results, might start random testing on campus in the coming weeks. They could accommodate us in the UG lab, it is secluded and so it should be safe for us to use, and won't add pressure on the limited space available in the main building.
- The team would prefer to start wet lab work asap, even if we are spread out across in different labs, bangalore peeps in NCBS or IISc or JNCASR, Delhi peeps in ICGEB, Misaal in IISER Mohali, Ashwin and Arsh on campus. Need to see how situation evolves to see if ICGEB or IIT Bombay might be accessible to us for cyanobacteria research. How do we get training on wet lab work, if we are not on campus? Might have to request mentorship from PhD students at the lab which can accommodate us. Or will have to see if it possible to learn remotely.
- if we can return to campus after beginning wet lab work in other labs, it shouldn't be difficult to ship material.
- we can start looking to ordering necessary reagents to campus so that ashwin can start working
- can discuss whether bio dept funds or if institute can provide funds for registration in meeting with Director, in addition to asking him for lab space at NCBS or JNCASR.
