After that, UMA_MALAGA, UMaryland, and Ecuador teams joined us with their stories. Then, the Calgary team and us organized a storytelling event to read aloud the stories to a children group and listen to their opinions. Detailed information, as well as the storybook file are available on our communication section."

Some of our team members assisted with the organization, while others got to experience it as participants. We collaborated with teams Bolivia and Ecuador from the iGEM competition, and the UAM team from the iGEM Design League. Many iGEM teams participated, submitting women that inspire them and sharing their group photos. More details of the inspiration and the initiative are explained in our inclusivity section. The second activity we collaborated on was their video initiative about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); we participated with a video where we explained how our project is helping to achieve the SDGs for 2030. "description":"We established contact with the UiOslo team from Norway, since they are working with per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFA’s), a type of fluorinated contaminant compounds, just like the ones present in current firefighting foams we are trying to find an alternative for. They wanted to do an awareness panel of these damaging substances, and invited us to participate. We held a conference where they invited PhD Line Haug, an expert on the subject. Both teams presented our project in a brief, followed by a Q&A session. There were 28 participants in the live session, including experts."

"description":"The Vilnius-Lithuania team got in contact with us because of the high presence of amebiasis (the problem they are working with) in Mexico. Our collaboration consisted of looking for stakeholders for each other’s project: we helped them reach out to amebiasis experts from our country, and they helped us to get some contacts of foam producers. However, it was not the only thing we did together; after learning that Mexico is one of the main countries with this disease and there is very little information being provided by governmental organizations, we wanted to do an amebiasis informative poster for Mexican people. Vilnius-Lithuania carried out the poster design, and we translated and shared it on social media. The poster reached 3,000 people (facebook analytics) and it is still being shared by several health groups. Click here to download the poster."

"description":"We got in contact with the TU_Darmstadt team at the beginning of the iGEM season. We decided to establish the contact due to their previous work with biofilm modeling on iGEM 2020 and our inclination to make a biofilm model. During several meetings, they mentored us by giving tips and advice. In the end, we decided not to do a biofilm model because of the little information of biofilm increasing (most models, including the one developed by TU_Darmstadt focus on eliminating it instead of overproducing it). Their insight greatly helped us shape our model approach to have valuable models and predictions for our project. In addition, they translated our promotion video subtitles to German."

They proposed a regulation for the usage of synbio-base phage therapy solutions to treat diseases, as it is the topic of their project. Besides, we proposed an improvement and specification of Mexican regulations in our participation in the Policy Hackathon, as in Mexico there is not a specific regulation in which our foam fits in.
