Attributions


The University of Texas at Austin iGEM team was responsible for almost all aspects of the project, from coming up with the project idea, writing procedures, and carrying out lab work and wiki content. We would like to thank all of the brilliant people who made this project possible.


Team Members


Aneesa Bhakta- Led the students as a part of the student leadership team and served as one of the primary lab researchers throughout the summer and fall (focusing on surfactants, protein purification, phage creation/assay). For the wiki, she worked on the general wiki format, Project Description, Engineering Success, Proposed Implementation, and Results.

Kaitlin Shin- Led the students as a part of the student leadership team and served as one of the lab researchers throughout the summer and fall (focusing on protein purification and other protein/phage assays). Acted as the team manager for medal requirements and wiki progress management. For the wiki, she worked on Human practices, Integrated Human Practices, Project Description, Engineering Success, Proposed Implementation and the Team page.

Jacob Risch- Led the students as a part of the student leadership team and served as one of the lab researchers throughout the summer and fall (focusing on isolating duraPETase and other protein/phage assays). He also set up our meetings with experts like Jace Tunnell and planned our trips near the Gulf Coast for Nurdle Patrol. For the wiki, he worked on Collaboration, Human Practices, Integrated Human Practices, and Experiments.

Sophia Xu- Led the students as a part of the student leadership team and served as one of the lab researchers throughout the summer and fall (focusing on protein purification and other protein/phage assays). For the wiki, she worked on Collaboration, Human Practices, Integrated Human Practices, and Partnership.

Laurel Miller- Led the students as a part of the student leadership team and served as one of the lab researchers throughout the summer and fall (focusing on plastics and other protein/phage assays). For the wiki, she worked on Contribution, Project Modeling, Improvement of an Existing Part, and Proof of Concept.

Harsh Madaik- Led the students as a part of the student leadership team and served as one of the lab researchers throughout the summer (focusing on plastics and phage assays). For the wiki, he worked on the Attributions and Project Description.

Bill Tang- Led the students as a part of the student leadership team and worked on the surfactants portion of Human Practices. For the wiki, he also worked on the Contribution, Proposed Implementation, and Project Modeling.

Haris Tariq- Led the students as a part of the student leadership team, and worked on the Proposed Implementation and surfactants portion of Human Practices.

Raul Lopez- Worked on Contributions and the surfactants portion of Human Practices.

Cara Fonken- Worked on the promotional video for the project.

Eleanor Irion- Worked on the education and communication posts, created the logo and mascot for our team, and produced all original artwork for the wiki.

Megan Trinh- Worked on the educational & communication posts across all of our social media platforms and worked on the education/communication wiki page.

Mihir Gupta- Worked on the educational & communication posts across all of our social media platforms and worked on the education/communication wiki page.

Sonia Singh- Worked on the modeling portion of the project, presentation video subtitles and the Home, Collaboration, wiki pages.

Ryan McKee- Worked on the educational & communication posts across all of our social media platforms and worked on the Human Practices wiki page.


Special Thanks


Dr. Jeffrey Barrick and Dr. Dennis Mishler- Led and assisted the team in coming up with the project concept, reviewing relevant literature, and fine-tuning all parts of the project as the project developed.

Cameron Roots- He advised and assisted the team with any and all technical issues involving the design and experimentation in the lab.

Microbe Hackers FRI stream- Microbe Hackers Undergraduate Students peer-reviewed several Wiki pages, providing crucial comments on formating and general grammar. Visit site page here.

Hannah Cole and Hongyuan Lu from the UT Alper Lab- Helped the team with His-tag purification by providing procedures, help with troubleshooting, and materials. Also helped by running HPLC samples for experiments.
